Hi, first time I'm posting here, been a member just never posted hehe. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone here could help me figure what i'm doing wrong. So after I wash my car, it's black and not a daily driver, I use Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer as a quick detail. For some reason as i spray it on the hood and wipe it off i noticed uneven spots. At different angles you can see parts that are darker and lighter, it's like oily on some parts and not others. I even try a small section and slowly wipe it off using the Cobra supreme microfiber and it still didn't work. So what I did was just took some soap water to wash it off and decide to not put the detail spray on. Is it because the hood is a little warm? Or am I doing something wrong. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

if the vehicle is warm the QD will streak. also make sure you are not just wipeing it on. you need to work it in

Are you doing this in the sun? If so then move it into the shade and let it cool off first.

No i always wash the car in the shade, and usually wash it on saturdays after work which is about 20 min drive and being in the sun all day most of the time, but maybe because the car is not cool off enough, i will try it again on Sunday morning when the car is completely cooled off in the garage and see how it goes, usually i have no problem but i'm very detailed oriented and i look at all angles and it just bugs a little haha

Open the hood for a while before using QD. Lets engine heat dissipate and allows the hood to cool.

I remember seeing this some where and I need some feedback if this is true, but a QD may streak if its time to wax again, meaning your wax on the car may need to be re-done.

That's a new one to me.

Hi xxxtmnxxx, apply a generous amount of product and buff softly with a microfiber towel until it dissapears.

Are you shaking it well and then continuing to do so as you use it?

Yes i usually shake it up very well but I think what bmp said makes sense, i might not be using enough products so some parts just appear darker than others.
Side panels are less noticeable than hood areas

Thank you all for quick replies and tips!
