Quick Poll - Do you use a drying aid or drying agent after rinsing?

I was interested about do or don't, what type of drying aid or drying agent if you do.

I do. Was looking for something a bit more economical, so went this route. Mixed up my first bottle today. Did not use it yet, but looking forward to the results.

I always do. Usually just a detail spray, or sonax bsd on the coated cars, but I recently picked up a bottle of Poorboy's spray and gloss and I absolutely love it as a drying aid. It's super slick and leaves a great shine. Works great on the coated cars too.
 
Never.. use the flood method when rinsing over a coated paint.

Depends what I am doing after the wash.

If I am applying a sealant or polishing the paint, then no.

If I don't do anything after the wash, I will use some sort of spray wax as a drying aid. In the past years I was using D156 Xpress Quick Spray Wax. I am about to run out and I purchased D155 Final Touch as a replacement. Hope I like it. I have also mixed Ech2O and Reload 20:1 each with distilled water as a drying aid for coated paint. Have not used it yet.
 
Yes. QD within same brand of the LSP, or spray wax within same brand of LSP (where applicable as a drying aid), or just D156 or AquaWax where I don’t have a brand specific spray wax and I want that extra boost. If I really love the LSP, I will not use the spray waxes as drying aids until I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the LSP by itself first.
 
I always use wolfgang uber (3oz. per gallon) as my drying aid for maintenance washes

If I'm doing paint correction I use N-914 or D114 (1oz. per gallon)

N-914 and D114 don't offer much lubrication or slickness compared to other drying aids, but using them does seem to marginally improve the towel grab compared to using nothing.
 
I should note that I only use spray waxes as drying aids for those sprays that advertise as good drying aids, else I just use the brand specific QD to dry, then add spray wax once dry if I want it.
 
also, one of my all time favorite drying aids

Diluting a 32oz bottle with
24oz Duragloss Fast clean & shine
8oz of Duragloss Aquawax

It smells amazing, is just as slick as wolfgang uber, and leaves the paint slicker than anything else I've tried
 
answer to this question is going to depend on location, temperature, weather, humidity levels, angle of sun, and time of day wash is being done.

My answer: No

Here in AZ, my blower, the sun and temps 80+ are my drying aids. My water line goes through an industrial water system with several resin beds for spot-less water. So for me, it's final rinse, and blow dry... Let my LSP (CQ), sun and blower do the work for me. :)

Yes Indeed I do.

I do CR spotless rinse, blow dry 85% of the water off paint and out of the difficult cracks. Completely blow dry the wheels.

Then I have been using one of a few different products for maintenence drying aides.
My car is Coated with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra/Exo so I use the following:

1. Gtechniq C2V3 diluted 1:10
2. CarPro Ech20 / Reload mixture @ 1.5-2oz each in 32 oz
3. Just CarPro Ech20 alone at a mixture prolly close to 1:20
4. Ultima Waterless Wash+ 0.5oz/22oz


In my experience with these few.
1. Gtechniq is pretty easy on/buff off. Works very well. Leaves car very slick and I feel provides complimentary protection with my Gtechniq coating. More Expensive
2. Ech20/Reload combination is slightly more work that all the others. Streaky. Been thinking my dilution is too heavy. I have read others have similar experiences though. That being said, after its finally buffed off, it also is very very slick and has a lovely gloss.
3. Ech20 alone is also great. It still with some streakiness, but not as much as if you mix in Reload. Seems to provide slightly less ultimate slickness than C2V3 or combined with reload.
4. UWW+ Smells great. Easiest of the group to apply. Great gloss and slickness. But it doesnt last as long as the first three. However, given the ease of application, and its cheap dilution ratio, its the one I reach to most often.
 
I always do, I never let something touch my paint without some form of lubrication, which is either usually D156 or a quick detail spray. I always use my master blaster to get most of the water off and then just bring it all together and perfected with one or two towels and whatever spray I decide to use that day.
