My wife called me earlier and said "go ahead and order what you want from "your geek website":( and I'll pay for it---Happy Father's Day". Waiting for her to get home with her debit card so I can do the deal! My girls are getting it for me for my father's day present:righton: I love my kids!!! :D
Wife is a keeper! :D But "your geek website", that makes us sounds like nerds with glasses that have tape holding them together.:o

That's how I feel at work or when I talk to my friends about detailing though Meghan! Everyone makes fun of my hobby, until they all of a sudden see how nice my cars look and they want theirs done. The good thing is, at that point I don't feel bad charging them for it, HAH!

Thanks to AG I don't have to order one! Thanks again AG!

Well now that I have a few details with the UDM under my belt I can honestly say that this machine blows the PC out of the water. Defects that the PC would struggle with and require multiple passes have so far come out with one pass with the UDM. Polishes are easier to work and break down. My detail times have been significantly reduced -what ususally would take me about 5.5 hours I'm now getting done in 4, and this machine is the only change I've made to my routine. In my initial review with the machine I did a side-by-side comparison compared the the PC on my truck, which really wasn't fair because my paint was already in great shape. After working with the UDM on some vehicles in pretty bad shape, I truly believe that everyone should give this machine a go. You will not be disappointed. My PC will be seeing Ebay in the very near future.

Yeah I'm going wait for at least ....30 reviews before I buy one, if I do ...just don't want to jump into anything that I will be sorry for !!!

I hv sold both of my PCs and will order the UDM today.

Hey Megan, what is wrong with holding my glasses together with tape? Are you saying I should have bought new glasses instead of a UDM?:D

I'll wait...pry pick up a rotary or Cyclo instead. Reviews I'm seeing are mixed, very few are showing any significant difference over the PC..whereas from teh hype surrounding it I thought it was supposed to bridge the gap nearer to the rotary from what everybody was saying beforehand. If I didn't have a PC I'd pry get one, maybe I'll sell the PC and get the UDM...but pry just get a rotary or Cyclo instead since the Cyclo works nticeably better then the PC.

Ok, some of you are waiting before ordering. Let me ask you this, how many out there have just one bottle of wax, one bottle of polish? I thought ya needed one of everything.

my opinion....
I'm waiting on more reviews from PRO Detailers that have used the PC and Rotary. To be honest, I really do not pay attention to the reviews from some of the people that do not detail full time, or those whom have never used a PC nor Rotary...
So that is my view. More reviews from Pros..... Someone who will use it day after day and really put it to the test in the field.

(This post was my opinion, not meant to offend anyone)

How could we possibly be offended when you say you don't pay attention to us, because we know you aren't when we don't pay attention to you. :)

ouch

wish I could tell if you were serious or joking....lol

I just don't want to buy a machine I will be disappointed in. Just want to see a few reviews from pros who will run the machine more than average. I want to see more than reviews on the machine..... I want to see reviews on after the detail.... Hands buzzing, comfortable, etc...........

None taken! I understand what you're saying, and I'm sure Gearhead was kidding cause he put a smiley :)

The latest from DavidB was " HOWEVER, I have since gone back and tested Edge 2000 with our production machine, and the vibration is excessive.

So, I DO NOT RECOMMEND the UDM 1000 for Edge 2000 users until I have a properly balanced counterweight.

I am sure David will work that out...just a matter of designing the right type weight....

This was just info to pass on so those that bought a machine with the intent to use the edge will know...it is not Aarons or David's fault..it will be worked out from what David says...

I'm so offended, ARGH! Just kidding, hehehe, I think you're completely right. You have to put this machine through the ringer and them some considering it's not like Milwaukee or Porter Cable are coming out with something new. They've been in and have been in the business of building machines for ages. The UDM is brand new.

Agreed. I was a lucky winner and don't have much experience with the UDM yet. I posted my initial review but I still need to use it a lot more before I can go in depth with the paint correction / faster detail things and then try and compare it to the PC and rotary. Time hasn't been on my side lately though... stay tuned.

If you are looking into a polisher and don't have one right now, the UDM will be the best choice. It is safe and powerful. IMO it needs a little tweaking but that is going to take some more testing and more $$ from the manufacturers. At this point in time I would say it gives the PC its run for the money but could still be improved some. I believe David B is thinking about going all out on a new machine and will be more than $150 though... A little more time and I'll be able to explain things better hopefully... and figure out my overall opinions,

Well according to the PreSales as soon as these ship we will have a bunch of reviews up in no time. I think everyone is taking advantage of the free XMT wax that is going with it now. So stay tuned, reviews coming soon!

No plans to pick up a UDM. I primarily use the rotary now. And my PC works fine for times that call for it.
