Hey guys, I know there's a ton of threads out there on wheels. I just had a quick question about wheels. I am going to be detailing a friend's 70's corvette for a car show tomorrow night. He has the polished wheels but they seem faded or oxidized? Does anyone know a good way to give it a good polish or just shine them up enough? Would claying them take away some of the fade?

I want them to shine like these!! :

Any help or suggestions would be a great help. Thanks!!

I have a 1980 Corvette with factory aluminum wheels. The clear coat paint was looking dull so I used paint stripper to remove it. There is not much you can do to clear coat that looks dull. Now the wheels are bare aluminum and have a nice shine to them. Look as good as chrome. Tried alot of products and Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish wooked the best for me. A small jar found at an auto store is inexpencive.

I would try taking a clean applicator and rubbing car wax on very hard to try and polish them up, If you cant do that, you could use a metal polish
