So I finally had an opportunity to try this product out Nanoskin Hydro Express Hydrophobic Spray Polymer

The whole "repels water and dissipates static" thing caught my attention. I tried it on my wife's Mica metallic finish and my solid black finish. Wife's car was done yesterday and mine today.

Application was easy, but there was some minor streaking. It was effortless as claimed, but I had to follow up a few areas with additional buffing. Application on my wifes car was early afternoon which probably contributed more to the streaking, do to a hotter surface. Mine was done earlier this morning, on a cooler surface.

The reflection left on my wifes car was awesome. The product really made the metallic pop. I'd give it a 10. The finished surface was slick, nothing mind blowing. When I went checked out the finish this morning it was still quiet reflective but it had that fine layer of environment on it. It looked nice on my solid black finish but too reflective for a solid color. A very shallow depth of finish. If it it repels water well, then it'll be worth using on a solid color, especially during hurricane season when it rains constantly.

Here's some pic's.

Well one and two days later the finish still have a slickness to them and have minimal spotting from the morning dew and I watched the moisture sheet off the hood as I was driving to work.

Still too reflective for solid colors.

BTW you say there was some streaking. How bad was it and were you able to remove it completely? The only two spray sealants I have found so far that do not streak on my black car is Wolfgang Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant and Duragloss Aquawax. Some of the spray sealants I have tried left bad streaking that could not be removed even with buffing. I had to wait till the next wash.

Any idea how this fares compared to CG Hybrid V7?
I have not used any CG product, so I could not tell you.

Not bad. Just some extra buffing. To be honest it was hard to tell there was streaking. The only way I would notice spots were if the sun was hitting the finish at the right angle. They were more noticeable on black finish.

I love both those products you mentioned. The WDGPSS looks sick on the metallic Mica finish. I love DGAW on both our cars.

Thanks Mike! Yep I love WDGPSS, smells great, no streaking, and great look plus protection. But, it might be nice to switch up and try the nanoskin. Their "bubble bath" car wash shampoo looks like something I might try as well. BTW I love the cat in your avatar! I used to have a big fat black cat like that! Cant say he drank beer though!!

Thanks. It would be a nice change-up for your wallet too. Nanoskin is half the price.

Well a week has gone by. Cars looked a little dirty from a accumulation of the environment daily. Today was a real test though. It rained ALL morning. It poured in fact. Drove to work on some nasty roads. I came out to my car at lunch time and not a water spot or wet road grime. I couldn't believe it.

For the cost, I'm really liking this stuff.
