Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel, Tire gel protectant, OPT Tire Dressing Gel, protect tires, optibond tire gel

Opti-Bond Tire Gel

Pro's --- this stuff is a super thick gel that is water based and leaves a high gloss appearance. Dries rather quickly and actually looks glossier and bolder after so. Durability at three days is still quite nice and bold with no super drop off in appearance.

Con's --- my bottle has no spigot and thus comes out like a cream. Its hard to regulate how much your using or to use sparingly. It might be best with a second wipe shortly after application to remove from ribbing of tires specifically.

Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer Quick Detail Spray, instant detail spray, spray detailer, waterless wash, opt quick detailer

Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer

Pro's --- this product is super easy to use on both a damp or dry car. It immediately adds slickness to the finish and gloss is apparent also immediately. This product looks like Fk425 and Z8 from appearance and initially slicker than both. The smell is a wonderful bubblegum versus the standard fruit smells. Durability is unknown currently ...

Con's --- absolutely nothing, including price, to complain about. So far this is trying to beat out several well known products and could be the new king of the hill.

Next to try.....

Optimum Car Wax is a spray wax made with real carnauba and synthetic paint sealants for protection & shine! high-grade carnauba wax and silicone

Updated Optimum Spray Wax

It appears the former product has been upgraded to offer more durability, more gloss, and some minor polishing ability. Look forward to trying this soon, and would love any reviews from outside Optimum users.

FYI to everyone reading this review: Optimum suggests applying Opti-Bond with a spray gun running off an air compressor. If you don't, you're going to end up using too much product. Even with a spray gun, it's suggested to dilute 1:1 with water. This product is geared more towards professionals.

i just got some of the optimum tire gel also. i dont have an air compressor or a spray gun. what do you think is the best way to apply it to tires? Wet or dry? With mf applicator or foam applicator? Thanks in advance.

I would thin it out 1:1(just try a little bit at first to test), then I would apply with these applicators, which are the best I've ever used.

Looks like I'll be trying the qd'er now, I wanted to try the gel but not going to buy a air compressor just to apply a tire product. So the tire gel they have is not like AA/Souv/DP etc in the way they are normally applied and used?

Actually I have a small electric air compressor I think in the garage for, I've used for inflating rafts and stuff for pool. Can something like that be used?

Make you up a 1:1 bottle of tire gel mixxed with water. Get a soft bristle brush and spritz the bristles. You might want to go light on the spritz's until you find the right amount of squirts. I picked up this method from D2G and it's a killer combo for when the wind is blowing to much to use the air compressor.

Also if the shine isn't your style try going heavier on the tire gel for a more shiny apperance.

I've seen one guy say he's using a Wagner Wideshot paint sprayer to do the job. I believe he paid somewhere around $60 for it on ebay.

Thanks for the reviews Killr. I look forward to trying them out.
Oh and thanks again Killr. I finally got a got a chance to test out the Opti-seal sample you sent. I'm gonna try and get some pictures today and post.

sorry guys .... no pics. (tired and lazy)

It is interesting to note that some are adding water to the tire seal, and diluting it. Wild, I would think with water it would fail to dry and spritz everywhere.

Would something like this pump sprayer work with the new optimum tire gel? Grainger Industrial Supply: Sprayer,Pressure,2 Qt 4YJ23

It's possible for this type of sprayer to work with the OB but you may have to dilute it at 2:1.

The Wagner electric sprayer works pretty good but I still prefer application via an air compressor and paint gun. Reason being is that you want a fine spray for best results and the Wagner can spit out product so it is best diluted around 2:1 also for that type of application. A pump sprayer may also spit product out but an air gun, set properly, puts the dressing out in a atomized manner, as if using an air brush to apply paint to a model or canvas.

Hope this helps,
Anthony

I believe it got started when one of the guys testing for Optimum tried it and it worked well.
