Hello guys just thought I would post a quick comparison shot between the WGUC3.0 and FG400. I did not go in depth for a full review but I figured some on here would like to see a few of these pics.

I had a full correction job to do this weekend and had these two products on hand. I figured it would be a good quick test to see which compound I would use for the really bad areas to reduce my time.

I will say that both of these products are awesome but I easily chose one after checking the test spots.

The owner of this vehicle was dead set on getting his hood repainted because he has previously gotten so called " professional" advice from 2 detailing companies that the hood was too far gone to save. I overheard him saying this and convinced him to let me take a shot at it before he spends all his money to repaint.

**This is not a full review just a quick comparison. I will do a full review on my next correction job**

Now the pics: Hammered hood AFTER wash, Ironx and clay.

Products to be used
New heavy cut pads primed, then used 3 pea sized drops for each product.

I did 8 heavy speed 6 passes on these sections with both products using my GG6 with heavy cut pads. Here are the results:
FG400

UC3.0

There was no oxidation left to the naked eye after both of these products were used, but under the inspection light it was obvious that UC3.0 removed more of it. The work time of the UC3.0 is amazing. It feels more like a glaze while you are working. I love it so far.
I chose the UC3.0 for the heavy remaining areas and followed up with a Lake country yellow flat (LOVE THESE THINGS TOO) pad and here is how the hood ended up.

Very pleased with this product. It will not disappoint you.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice mini review Jace. I was hoping to hear a review from you on these two products. I'm sure user friendliness was a top priority for this compound and it looks like it excels.

Keep us updated on your full review.

BTW, don't you love German engineering?!

Wow so Wolfgang best out the almighty menzerna? BTW great way to test them out

Yup, Menzerna beat themselves again. WGUC3.0 appears to be a user-friendly consumer version of FG400. Longer work times and perhaps less dusting.

Co-developed or not, it's Menzerna made to Wolfgang specs.

Great review OP! Did you do a wipe down after polishing?

I can vouch for the long working time of über 3.0. Very nice product. I'm. 99.9% sure it's made by Menzerna.

Yes, it was developed together, ag stated it and I believe two other WG products were made in collaboration.

Thanks Mike!! It was surely MORE user friendly and produced better results. I was a pleasure to work with. I worked under the light and just watched the oxidation melt away after each pass. Pretty awesome!!

:xyxthumbs: Yes, the Germans are on top in my garage right now. haha.. I know you love hearing that. I don't think I have a need for my secret compound anymore. So far.. :P

Thank you sir, in my book it surely did. The finish was just amazing as well. I really had no need to step to sf4000. I don't think it added any more clarity and this was after using LC yellow flat pad.

:dblthumb2:

Thank you :xyxthumbs:

Thank you sir. I will say that it produced slightly more dust than the FG400. Nothing unbearable and certainly not during work time. I saw the dust after making the passes, cleaning the pad then going to work again a little bit of the previously used polish would start dusting. It could have been from the priming. It is virtually dustless during work time.

I did not do an eraser wipe down before those pictures. It was done later before I applied the DG111.

Yes the work time is awesome. I was running on speed 6 and it just simply kept glazing with every pass. :dblthumb2:

Nice review.

Thanks a lot

You should tell the client you repainted the hood

Lol

He probably would have believed.. lol. His jaw dropped when he saw the hood. He couldn't believe it came back to life. He had pretty much given up on it after been told by previous so called detailes that it was too far gone to save. I love challenge..:buffing:

The truck correction thread will be up shortly as well!!

So when you use the term "glazing", are you saying the product was filling more and more as you worked it?

I think he meant it didn't dry out like a glaze wouldn't. I've used it. It fills, but the fillers are removed easily. At least I think so...

is the flat yellow LC more aggressive than the orange one? I assume so, just making sure because there as so many different pads out now.

Here is the Chart:

Autogeek Buffing Pad Comparison Chart

Yellow CSS Cutting Foam Pad

"Use this pad to apply compounds or polishes to remove severe oxidation, swirls, and scratches. It is the most aggressive and should only be used on oxidized and older finishes. Always follow this pad with an orange or white pad and a fine polish to refine the paint until it is smooth."

Saw this one Facebook. Thought you may get a kick out of it...

Basically the product never dried up while working with it. It just left a glazed look over the section that was just passed over.

Right on the money!!

Yes, it is. However, those may not be LC yellow pads in the test. Possibly B&S pads?

Correct me if I'm wrong but those may be 3D pads....
Yes Mike.. they are heavy cut 3D pads.. Lake country flat pads are my new go to pads though. I didn't want to gunk up my new LC flat pads so I used the 3D to get the heavy oxidation off.. haha
