I don't think there are many hip-hop fans here, but we lost another great one...R.I.P. Heavy D...he was definitely one of the great ones. Died in the OR...not sure what caused his death. He was only 44.

I'm with you. I heard that Heavy D had pneumonia, the "walking" type of pneumonia that a person could be unaware of. It's too bad, because the brother was definitely too young at 44 to go. Rest in peace, Heavy D

Never really got into Heavy D, grew up on TRUE hip hop (not angry, misogynistic rap) but HD never did it for me.

Being dubbed "the overweight lover" was a sure sign of some health problems.

All that aside, RIP Heavy D.

Man that’s scary because he JUST got done performing at the BET Awards on the 1st of Oct.
I read some of the comments on the CNN article where people were just disrespecting him and calling him a thug and saying everyone from the hood is a rapper. This dude wasn’t a thug…he just simply made good music.

yeah I've definitely come to that conclusion. Every news article that has a "leave a comment" section turns into some racist rant or pure anger. Whats up with people being so angry?! LOL! Smile...be happy!

I agree, Heavy D was far from a self proclaimed "thug" in hip-hop. He was what hip-hop was created to be, true lyrics and metaphors not just opening up your closet to make an album. I saw that BET awards show too he was in good shape, moved like he did back in the day, maybe even a little better. Life is too short for people to be so negative, that's why i come here, to chat with people who are happy with their hobby or profession, and our love for cars in general.
