Probably but you have to get things called winter tires. I hear those are a thing but they dont really apply when we have 5 days below freezing here.Wait...I'm going to have rims before you, what the hell is the world coming toLet's hope they're infact the 1552 Intergrales

Yes, I do need the winter tires, Blizzak WS90's is what I'll be going with and wrapping my stock rims with them. My recent rotation showed 9/32nds on 2 of the tires and 8/32nds on the other 2, so I'll be riding those out...but, getting new rims, a little more width (+.5") and offset (+5mm) so should help a tad in the handling department.Probably but you have to get things called winter tires. Just curious.... what are you looking to gain by downsizing to 18 and getting more sidewall?Loving it. Getting closer to a wheel purchase for it to ditch the 19" wheels and drop down to an 18" to get a little more sidewall. Have gotten upwards of 29.8mpg and as low as 25.4mpg when I ran in N mode all day running the Dragon and Skyway. Autocrossed it once and finished 6th overall behind 3 Corvettes, 1 RS Focus, and 1 STi and all of those where on RE71R race tires while I was still on stock Pirellis.
Well first and foremost, have you seen those stock N PP rimsJust curious.... what are you looking to gain by downsizing to 18 and getting more sidewall?

Oh I could make it through with good all seasons like Conti DWS06's but I'm spoiled with winter tires now since I had them on the Abarth the past 5 winter driving seasons. That little car, with THOSE tires, never got stuck and it had to go through a couple bad mornings too! I call it "poor man's AWD"Not if you know how to drive in snow.............![]()

I'm using the stock rims and OEM size for my winter set up, the +5mm is the addition offset of my upcoming 3 season rims, they're also .5" wider as well and again, for right now, using the tires that came on the car since they have so much meat on them...right now.
It's TRUE about the more narrow the better for winter driving, I'll ask about the availability of a 215/40/18 instead of its OEM size of 225/40/18.

First is better tire selection. Stock tires are a 235/35 19 so a very limited selection on a very short sidewall tire. With these tires you feel every single pebble on the road. A taller sidewall will help with that. Plus I hate the look of the tiny sidewall and the stock 19" wheels weigh arounv 32lbs each.
