After installing a new top I have been using the raggtopp vinyl cleaner and protectant. Product works great but have noticed that when rinsing off it stains the paint..Don't know what I am doing wrong. Anyone ever have this issue and how to remove the marks? I have tried washing the car again and still the stains will not remove.

That looks like some potent stuff. What did the instructions say about protecting the paint? Maybe wetting down the surrounding area first.

It does not say caution or anything in regards to the car paint. Ive looked up to see if anyone else has had an issue with the raggtopp cleaner and had no luck at finding a solution.

Do they have a website or phone #...best to contact the manufacture.

Ill try contacting them during the week..any ideas as to what I can do now to try and remove the marks?

I've been using RAGGTOPP for years and have never had this problem. What are you using to clean the paint with?

Meguiars Gold Class shampoo . Currently now it has a layer of fuzion wax. I dont know if that would have an effect. I thought it was the soap as well but the soap has not effected any of the other cars I have washed.

I've never had this happen to any of my rag-top-vehicles' painted surfaces...Ever!!

-Pardon my over the internet trouble-shooting:

Is there similar paint-staining on any other painted areas of the vehicle?
On any glass/plastic surfaces?

Is this the original top or a replacement?

Many different contaminates can befall a vehicle's rag-top...
including 'chemicals' that are inherent in the manufacturing of rag-top materials.
They may well be washing-out upon your vehicle...

-Here's hoping a mild-polish/cleaner-wax eliminates the staining on your vehicle.

It is a brand new white vinyl top. But I did have a few drops of #7 that I tried on the marks. I did diminish them but I have it on both sides around the car so I need some more #7 to see if it will fully remove the marks. i have been wanting to invest on a DA polisher so this may be a good reason to go ahead and buy a new kit. Any ideas on what DA polisher kit would be best for my issue? Its a single stage paint so something that I can use that will remove swirls and other marks without harming my car

You can try to pretreat with APC or P21s and then wash the panel.

-The brand-newness of the replacement top's manufacturer-applied-"sealant", and/or other 'chemicals',
might be the culprit(s) that's wearing-off some...then staining, as it were, your vehicle's paint.

-M07 is a pure polish with no abrasives.
Lots and lots of work involved to remove paint blemishes with this product.

-Since you plan on getting a DA...
Try some Meg's Ultimate Polish first; and then M205 if that's unsuccessful.
Many auto parts stores carry these products if you don't have the time to tarry for an AGO order.

-I'll suggest that you call:
Nick...at AGO headquarters...
for his advice on the proper "Kit" for you and your needs.
(Remind Nick of my 10% finders-fee, if you don't care...:D)

Thanks will definitely give it a try. I thought that too that it may be just the new top. I will try just rinsing the top off without the raggtopp cleaner and see if that still causes the issues.
