Rain and WDGS?

I spent all day yesterday using the PC polishing the car to get it ready to apply Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant today. The drought in Dallas is getting a much needed rain today.

Can I still apply the WDGS with the car in the garage? I had planed on leaving the car in the garage until tomorrow to allow the sealant to cure. But is the humidity (currently 97%) going to cause me a problem? Am I better of waiting for another day?

I'd apply it in the garage whenever possible. I don't know about the humidity but I don't think it would be a factor since it's used in Florida alot.

You better have taken sum pics bro!

The garage should be adequate. Humidity just slows the curing process somewhat. We deal with it consistently in Fl.

Have to agree with Scott.
Last week the humidity was bad i had a hard time with products streaking, let me know if this is a problem with WG. I suspect it might be but if it does dont worry about the streaks wait until the WG cures then hit it with a QD that is comparable with WG sealants..

:iagree: . But be sure it stays in garage for at least 12 hours to fully cure.

Thanks everyone. I worked on it this afternoon. Everyone always comments how easy it is to remove WDGS. Now I understand why they say that. Just amazing! I applied it with a faom applicator to the entire car and let it sit for a half hour before I started removing it. It is in the garage now. Good thing too as it is raining still. Tomorow I hope to apply another coat.

I'll post pictures when it stops raining!

after the intial 12 hours to cure, a damp towel or qd'er will remove any streaking from most sealants.

So far there is no streaking. Should I do some QD (I even have the Wolfgang Spritz) before I apply a 2nd coat of WDGS?

It has some gloss additives , but not necessary. I do not see any real streaking with Wolfgang or UPP. But some sealants get a little finicky with humidity. PB and Werkstatt had some minor ... but both easily removed with a little qd'er.

Reviving this thread to ask this:

I just finished removing some swirls from my car with the two-stage Menzerna polishes. As I was finishing, it looked like it was going to rain, so I put on the Klasse AIO and held off on the WDGS. The forecast calls for rain tonight (and I don't have a garage).

I assume it was correct not to apply the WDGS since it needs at least 12 rain-free hours to cure.

Question: If it rains tonight but is dry and clear tomorrow, what should I do? A Quick Detailer and then the Wolfgang?

I would do a quick rewash as well if you don't have some spay-N-wipe (Poorboys waterless carwash).
