I thought it would be cool to post daily updates of my first trip to Las Vegas in a personal blog style.

SEMA Show 2013 begins on Tuesday, November 5th and ends on Friday, November 8th. Today was just a preview of the show, with lots of vendors starting to setup.

If anyone has any requests for a specific brand or manufacturer, I'll be happy to stop by their booth and snap pics for you.

I left Stuart, FL with Mike Phillips early in the morning. I was pretty excited to fulfill a "bucket list" dream of attending SEMA.

I always enjoy being at airports. The fact that we can travel across the country in a few hours nonchalantly in a jet powered tube of aluminum is pretty cool.

This pic was taken during our layover at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Mike Phillips and I both brought our Autogeek Executive Briefcases as carry on's. I'm lucky enough to own the only Black/Red briefcase, as it was a one-off concept briefcase before being released. (R2-D2 sold seperately) :)

We arrived in Las Vegas and checked into the Palazzo hotel.

The first thing I do whenever I travel, is scout around for the the local favorite pizzeria's. I was happy to see Las Vegas has a few high quality options for pizza lovers.

After checking into the hotel, we stopped by the convention center to help put our display together and check out the rides that have already arrived. This K&N Motorcycle was the first to catch my eye.

As an audiophile and ex car audio installer, I'm really looking forward to seeing some car audio brands at SEMA. Here's an Arc Audio display.

Ray- a great pizza joint for a NY / Brooklyn style slice is Uncle Joe's Pizza downtown on Fremont St. Don't know exact address, but it's near the heart attack grill.

Re: Ray's SEMA thread (Day 1)

Love those gold wheels on the Sonic and that Mazdaspeed treatment on the new 3, now they just need to build an actual model!

If you're looking for pizza in Vegas, make sure you try Settebello's (not too far from the strip, about 20 minutes).
Amazing pizza!

Re: Ray's SEMA thread (Day 1)

I haven't had it, but Grimaldi's at Venetian/Palazzo is suppose to be great. The original is in NY. You can't go wrong with food in Vegas. Everything is good.

Grimaldis is great!!!!

Hey Ray can you stop by JL Audios booth? See if there is any news on the W7 sub. Heard speculation of them using their home e-line subs for the car.

Re: Ray's SEMA thread (Day 1)

Very cool. Ray, please keep an eye over the Tesla car when will be uncover. Have a fun week :dblthumb2:

Grimaldi's is our 2nd favorite when we're out there. I'm in Vegas about twice a year to visit my family. Love going out there!

Sitting in Orlando waiting for my 4pm flight out, be in Vegas at 9:04...
If your looking for some great food find Hash-Hash-A-Go-Go, you will never forget it!
This is the first year I didn't have to setup or tear down, yippie. See you guys tomorrow.

Re: Ray's SEMA thread (Day 1)

Hope you took some well broken in shoes Ray. First time in Vegas is big, but first time and it's a show is overwhelming. Makes my feet hurt to think about it.

Keep your ear to the ground for all the private displays and parties. Those are very cool indeed. ;)

Re: Ray's SEMA thread (Day 1)

Very cool Ray!

Might I request a stop to the Rigid Booth and any lifted trucks you spot =)

Re: Ray's SEMA thread (Day 1)

Ray, very cool and thanks for sharing!

One thing caught me though, and it wasn't all those amazing cars and toys on display, it was this...

I always enjoy being at airports.

You've gotta be the only one, ever!

Enjoy the show, and more importantly, the airport on the way back!

More pics coming Pat300zx! I saw a super clean white 300zx this morning but couldn't snap a good pic of it in traffic. I'll try and find it for you.

Will do! I've been looking for JL since I got here. I've always been a big fan and plan on doing my car top to bottom with JL products this time. I've always wanted to tour their office in Miramar, FL too. I have family in Miramar and drive by their office regularly. I'll find JL before I leave.

Very cool. Ray, please keep an eye over the Tesla car when will be uncover. Have a fun week :dblthumb2:

Will do! I've seen a few Teslas now but will keep an eye on that booth.

Another vote for Grimaldi's?! This seals the deal :)

:) I'm a sucker for cool technology. Peanuts, Coca-Cola and a good pair of headphones is all you need to keep me happy. :)

+1 for Hash House... I've been to Vegas 2x. Was told about it on the first trip by a taxi driver... definitely had to make it back on my second visit.
