Re-discovered Optimum Hyper Polish.....

I just used it this weekend and realized the goofiness of the spray bottle.

Heavy all over or light finesse on the pad there is still the, 'I hope it doesn't go all over this time'

This thread reminded me to figure out a pour-able solution again.
I need something with a drizzle since it a runnier polish.

I might be a bit dense...and I still haven't finished my coffee this morning...so bear with me here.

Do you simply spray it on the panel, spread it around with the machine BEFORE turning it on, and then turn on the machine and start working? If you just spray it on and start going to work I could see the moving pad slinging polish all over the place.

I like the idea, I just want to make sure I uderstand before trying it out in order to avoid a really big mess.

Correct. I do one spray and sometimes like a half spray, depending on the size of the panel. Isn’t really any different from putting product on pad and spreading across panel/section. Also have machine speed low for initial start of section pass.
 
fly07sti is giving you the correct advice. But the truth is he actually uses alot of this spray polish because he likes to create a good amount of splatter when he works on a vehicle... That way he gets to enjoy using more brand new microfiber towels from his endless supply in the shed.lol.

Don't you have any overspray problems doing this? At least in trying to spray it on the pad the overspray winds up on my arm or the machine or the side of the house, not on the car. I mean I think I tried doing it your way when I first got the spray polishes and sprayed a hood and wound up with a speckled windshield, although that would have been outside with some possible wind.
 
I don’t. I spray fairly close to my pad or the panel I’m working on. I also use a different spray nozzle because the one that comes with the bottle is junk IMO. I also try not to polish or compound outside. I have but I try not to. If I just did a full, hard spray then ya it’ll get all over. I try to do a somewhat controlled squeeze when I spray it so it doesn’t look like a blizzard.
