Had a license suspension for the past few months, 8 to be exact, so in the mean time the car was sitting at my uncles shop until it was of use again. I got it back over the weekend, in sh*t condition, the exterior is just destroyed but thats besides the point. As I'm cleaning the inside I notice tons of stains on the seats, looks and smells like coffee. I'm no stranger to getting fabric stains out, but something catches my attention from the corner of my eye. I look at the dome lamp and see a coffee stain the size of my hand. Obviously intentional, now its going to be a project to get this thing out. How do I go about tackling something this big and not separating the headliner/glue?

HMMMMMM sounds like your uncle needs to talk to somebody. Obviously someone in his shop doesn't respect others property and that probably goes for his stuff too.
 
I honestly have no clue, my friend smelled it and said it smells like coffee but there where sticky spots on a few parts of the console/upholstery. Yeah whoever it was its pointless confronting anyone, no one will admit to it, best thing I can do is clean it out.
 
ive had good luck with apc and a mf towel... spray on the towel then softly agitate. this keeps the headliner dry as possible and not damaging/affecting the adhesive.
 
Use DDT from docs total package.
that stuff gets out stains most detail stuff wont.
 
I used Resolve and a couple MF's to get stains out of my headliner and it worked great. Just hard work scrubbing over your head.
 
Too late for this advice now.

But for next time. You park the car, you take the keys and lock the car with the windows up.
If the car needs to be moved, you move it.
Every shop has it's fans of "Jackass"
 
Looks like someone partied in your car. That sucks!

Don't need to know the story but I really respect the fact that you parked your car and took the suspension punishment.

Try Folex. It is very mild with no smell. You can get it OTC, like at Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart (I think), etc. Always do some small test ares.
Oh, and it may simply be a mold or something that looks and smells like cofee. Anyway, best of luck. Take care.
 
+1 on Folex. Spray generously on a terry towel and alternate wiping in one direction and blotting.

Try not to saturate the headliner.
 
Sad to see your vehicle so messed up. Others have given some good advice to try, but a new headliner may be in your future.

About breaking some knees:

I'm sure you weren't on the list to walk "The Green Mile"...But perhaps a calm reminder that you have a "criminal record" may or may not give some folks cause for alarm! :D

When you do have your vehicle looking like new again, maybe you shouldn't miss the opportunity to do a 'drive-by' and thumb your nose at them though.

:iagree: I would try an APC 10:1, 4:1, and then Folex using the above MF method. Good Luck.
 
Wow... People have no respect, this is appalling. I hope you can fix it.

Next time you have to leave your car for an extended period, keep your keys with you, and if you can't leave it there without keys, find some other place.
 
i had a ton of stains on my headliner and my method to clean it was spray some megs apc+ on the headliner lightly let it dwell for a few then take my steam cleaner with a microfiber on the wide nozzle and did a couple of passes. headliner is still attached and looks tons better.. good luck to ya..oh yeah vacuum the headliner first...hope you get the stains out!
 
That looks more like a spill then a splatter

My guess is a mouse got up in there, died and bledout :)

Nice!

Pull up right in front of the shop, sound the horn, take out four cases of beer from the trunk, place them in an inconvenient spot, and ask the guys if you could store some beer at the shop. Ask if they could keep an eye on it for you (empties of course). Make it 10 cases!
