Hey guys I been reading the forums for a about a week and there is so so many products it can confuse a rookie like me..

All my life I've used the store bought goods to maintain my cars and I've always enjoyed cleaning and waxing my cars it's a peaceful mind clearing moment for me with that said I'm ready to step it up..

So I have a 2010 Honda crv and a 2004 Tacoma pick up, the truck is the one that needs a little tlc since it live out side..

So I know I need to clay bar it..

I need to polish it I want a polish that rookie friendly but great in quality and great results but not to hard to apply..

Then I need a good wax that's gonna protect it but give it a nice shine prefer protection that will last threw washes to come..

Im thinkin of buying the portal cable polisher, I might get the dewalt rotary one as well but it's scary right now I'm a noob I don't wanna mess up the finish..

My paint condition is not horrible just swirls and in some areas the shine doesn't pop.. No deep scratches nothing to crazy..

On pads i just don't know what will work I have thought I could use the ccs orange light cutting 6.5 to polish and then follow it with a ccs gray finishing..

Also need a good polish for my head lights and a good small pad

Any how guys sorry for the long post any and I mean any advice is apreciated I will be placing the order within the next couple days once a read up some more.. Thanks in advance

If your gonna get a Porter Cable I would recommend 5.5" pads. I started with the XMT polishes and got great results early. There's lots of great choices when it comes to wax, if you want something with lots of protection try Collinite 845 or look into sealants.

I don't use foam pads for cutting/compounding anymore. Meg's MF cutting pads + foam finishing pad FTW!
