Hello all...

Now I know this is a forum so I wanted to throw out some thoughts and see what you guys think on the matter. Keep in mind I am not just trying to start something out of nothing, just curious...

1) Wolfgang's Cockpit Sealant (new) I assume is competing with Ultima Interior Guard. Since Ultima Interior Guard is clear when applied and looks like nothing is on it when buffed off. A) How do we know if it has any effect at all (for example at least for wax we can see beading) how do we know that it is protecting anything? Since it just leaves the finish the looking the same, what if its just water?

2) For the new WG Crystal Seal, can anyone really tell if it is a new WOWA sealant on its own? What if it is the same Blackfire Crystal Seal in a new WG Bottle to market and sell a "new" product which is really a old product relabeled, no one would be able to tell the difference? I have Zaino CS and Blackfire CS and I cannot tell the difference when applied. Does anyone really notice any difference or you just tell yourself you see it to justify buying more? I don't see much difference from the looks of waxes I use yet I still buy more, but I do tell the difference how easy it is to use and dummyproof, as well as durability, which is what I use to justify trying different waxes. As far as the waxes that advertise the looks, I am a bit skeptical. I know 95% of it is the polishing before the wax which is the protection but my analogy would be if I bought two different buckets of paint, Paint A (red) and Paint B (blue), when I paint something, I can see and notice a difference between the two, justifying the purchase of each one. Even if I didn't see which paint came out of which bucket, I can clearly tell one is blue paint and one is red paint. For waxes, if I was to look at a panel split 50/50 with Wax A (Zymol Glasur) and Wax B (Swissvax Concourso) and polished the same, I honestly might not be able to tell the difference or say which side has which wax. Honestly if someone was to have a blind test of one side with Turtle Wax and one side Swissvax Crystal Rock, do you think you can tell the difference in a blind test?

Just some thoughts to consider, would love to hear any feedback

#1 UIGP may leave a new finish, but you can feel the product (Cashmere feel).

#2 WG and Blackfire Crystal Seal may very well be the same product (tweaked a little) being that PBMC owns both. IMO
It's all in the polishing, as the LSP just protects the finish.

Using UIG I can see a difference on the dash when used, and can definately feel the difference.

Agreed, there is a very slight visual change with UIGP. It's just not a hit you in the face visual change like most other interior products.

1.)
-Before any application---say to the dash...of any interior "dressings", ever...
put a couple drops of water on the dash; observe and take note of: the 'reaction(s)'.

-Then, if you so desire...the same "experiment"...after applying your interior "dressing"
of choice to the same test-spot area.

2.)
-There is, no doubt in my mind, a lot of re-labeling going on in the car-care products industry...
which being: "Consumer-Products"=Less regulation.

-Does PBMG's line-up of products fit those descriptions?
-Who else besides their Chemists/formulators knows for sure?
-Who is willing/financially-able to perform the necessary: "reverse-chemical engineering"...
in order to find the differences (if any) between not only PBMG's offerings,
but other Brands' product-lines, as well?
(3M/'The Turtle'...comes to mind that has "resources")

3. ?)
-"I know 95% of it is the polishing before the wax which is the protection".......

^^^Good statement.^^^

The 95% (or there abouts)...That's what I keep in mind!

Hello Michael!

1. Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant competes with leather conditioners, vinyl protectants and even fabric protectants! Surfaces treated with Cockpit Trim Sealant will stay cleaner much longer (especially areas where skin contact occurs often, like arm rests for example). Unless you apply the sealant thick (not recommended) it's difficult to tell whether or not it's actually on the surface, but if you use your sense of touch, the coating will be obvious immediately. Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant provides a smooth, tactile feel on textured surfaces (ie: vinyl, rubber, and leather especially). One of the major benefits of an interior sealant like Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant or Ultima Interior Guard Plus is dust attraction, or lack thereof. Your interior will stay cleaner, longer.

2) For the new WG Crystal Seal, can anyone really tell if it is a new WOWA sealant on its own? 2. The only thing Wolfgang DGLS and Blackfire Crystal Seal have in common is their application method, which is spray on, walk away. Wolfgang DGLS has a more advanced polymer and was formulated to be more user-friendly in climates with high humidity. This also translates into a product that's slightly easier to use in direct sunlight. Wolfgang DGLS also provides a slight edge in protection versus Crystal Seal. With the Wolfgang being on sale at a ridiculously low price for a couple more days, it is the obvious choice in my opinion. If you like Crystal Seal, you'll love Deep Gloss Liquid Seal. :dblthumb2:

Regarding the differences between looks provided by X wax versus Y wax, this is something that has been debated for years and will continue to be debated for years. Paint preparation (claying, polishing) plays a huge roll in how well any given product will look. This is a debate that will never have a conclusion so I would find something that you like and use it often.

-Who else besides their Chemists/formulators knows for sure?

With 5, 6, 7, or even 8 lab samples on my desk at any given time, for every product imaginable, from any given manufacturer, I can tell you that not all products are the same. If that was the case, I'd have to find something else to occupy part of my daily routine. :)
