Lately I’ve been cleaning some really nasty wheels with a lot of baked on brake dust. I normally use Diablo cleaner, but it won’t touch the baked on stuff. I’m looking to buy a different brand to have on hand for really bad wheels and thought I would get suggestions from the forum before buying. All suggestions will be appreciatedFeed back please

Meguiars Wheel Brightener is hard to beat, excellent stuff. And 1 gallon can be diluted 4:1 or even 8:1..! But don't forget to buy a chemical resistant sprayer..

Poorboy's Spray and Rinse is also great, but not as cost effective and the Meguiars WB.

WB would be a good choice. Just be careful on uncoated wheels as it is possible to dull the finish on them.

Poorboy's Spray and Rinse this stuff is awesome. You pay for what you get, not the cheapest but works great.

I had the same problem with a M5 and I was using products as you and was not working. I just picked up some wolfs and megs apc. Knocked the dust right off the M5. Go with wolfs or sonax or ironx and a apc.

Sonax Full Effect and some Iron-X is a good combination. The wheels on my daughters BMW X-3 were sadly neglected until I got to them. They are almost 100% better now.

Best wheel cleaner for the money is mothers all wheel and tire. It is non acidic and destroys brake dust. I was able to spray small amounts of product and remove brake dust on all different types of wheels

Ive had good experience with Megs Hot rims all wheel and tire, foams nicely and cleans really well.

Thanks for the advise. I placed an order for Sonax, Poorboys, and IronX. I'll give them a try and see what happens.

p21s gel to get most of the baked on brake dust/gunk and then iron-x to really clean the wheels, it really makes claying almost optional.

Sonax didn't touch it, and PB's wasn't doing much.

Got the results with Meg's WB @ 3:1. I don't ever buy any other wheel cleaner.

It always pays to have a selection of wheel cleaners in the arsenal. Not every cleaning task is the same.

This is if your talking about aluminum wheels. I was in the tire and wheel business for 28 years. I had so many customers that didn't take care of their wheels. Then after a couple years they decide they want to clean them. They would come in and tell me they had tried everything. I would take a piece of this stuff and clean about a 6 inch strip on the barrel of the wheel. They would just say "WOW"
