Really don't like the ShMitt

Were you using ONR? It really isn't designed specifically for Bucketless Washes. I did read a review where someone tried using it with ONR and had some pull. Use a regular good quality car soap with lots of solution.

Thanks again guys...I've used a sheepskin with my soap and it's fine. Maybe it's just me...:)

I"ll try the DP soap and see what happens.

Thanks again,
Harold

p.s. I must have struck a nerve though....3 pages in less than 24 hours!!:)

Na...we just love sharing our opinion that's all :D

Relax Harold, lots of opinions to strike here. Welcome to the asylum.
I am not completely overwhelmed with the Scmitt either but it is mainly because its a mitt. I guess I just like a good MF/sea sponge. I like my hand free and I can see what a sponge is doing.
Now if Aaron could come up with a foam/MF bone sponge combo (hint hint) he might have me. A SPEDGE!
One thing I do not think anybody mentioned is that you really should not need to apply a whole lot of pressure. Just glide it across and let the foam/soap do the work

I am born again! ShMitt Lover I Am!!!!

Ok...so after reading all the replies...I figured it MUST be me....:)

Here's what I found....

Although my use of soap (amount that is) was fine for a sheepskin, I needed more for the ShMitt. I used about twice as much as I usually do and WOW...the ShMitt is the Sh*t! I stand corrected and ask for forgiveness is doubting such a wonderful product! :)

In all seriousness, it seems that for me, the ShMitt needs more wash than I'm used to, but wow does it feel/work wonderfully if I give it more.

Thanks for all the help...I'm a ShMitt believer!

Best,
Harold

Wait till you eventually trya wash like Duragloss 901, Poorboys SSS, or DP Extreme :awesome:, Gold Class is good, but the others are in another league.

I would highly recommend using luke warm to warm water. Made a huge difference when I was washing my truck with the ShMITT not too long ago when the weather was colder. Much softer and much more absorbant.

I would also add Optimum Car Wash to that list.

If my Schmitt grabs I know I need more lubricant (e.g. DP rinseless auto wash) in the water. I don't scrub, just wipe accross lightly and let the soap and water do the work. Takes some getting used to as it feels like nothing is happening. i think we are used to scrubbing things to get them clean which doesn't work with the finish of a car. This, of course is my novice expertise! Liane
