I love love love Firebirds, it looks like you did a SPECTACULAR job on this one...BUT why is this an Iconic car? They made tons and tons of them. Just nit picking I guess but I was thinking a one of 7 cars made kind of thing, or something like a gullwing MB

Thank you. You rarely see them now days. Also this one had about 15K miles all original.

Thank you, yes some of the surfaces required wet sanding in order to make it a smooth transition for the polishing stages. Rotary was a must in most of the panels which required a lot of polishing.

Thank you and yes, time was a factor. The day prior I already had all my tools out and I knew what I had to do to get the job done. It was a surprise gift and he didn't know at all that my wife and I and of course his wife were doing this to him.

Yep, 8 hours. You are right of course I wish I would have more time and not worry about rushing but for the time that I had and the tools helped me achieve something that I feel comfortable to say, pretty good about it. I know he was so happy and that makes me happy.

I totally agree. So sad to see the Pontiac brand just go to a waste. So much history and yet nobody cared.

Have a 02 WS6 myself in pewter and great to see one being brought back.

Unfortunately the govt didn't think Pontiac was worth rescuing. When they bailed GM out they asked, according to Bob Lutz, when was the last time Pontiac turned a profit? The response was a decade or more and so the govt said it had to go. When they are writing you a multi billion dollar check you tend not to disagree. Every once and while rumors pop up saying they are bringing it back as a performance division. But doubt that will ever happen.
