Lake Country Purple Wool. Blue is newer with more foam backing but I still like the purple better. Cuts well and finishes great. Only a light polish is needed after. They are my go-to cutting pads. Look through any of my details in the show and shine forum and you'll see most were done with Purple wool and basic ulitmate compound. 3-4 passes and panels were fully corrected with near beautiful finishing. Again, just another 2-3 light passes with a light polishing pad and Essence or M205 was all that was needed for most all of them.

The beauty of the 3401 is it doesn't stall at all; not on curved panels, thin bumpers, not anywhere. Even the long throws will slow/stall and require more time overall or the use of a smaller pad. They also don't work well at all with wool because they aren't forced rotated and the longer fibers just oscillate around too much, which is why rotary units and the forced rotation of the 3401 do so well and blitz right through imperfections.

Have you tried microfiber cutting pads? I am amazed at the level of cut with MF pads and my Rupes 15.

They will be very "grabby" on the 3401. They work but it's a lot of effort to use them. Wool seems to finish with less haze too.

After seeing Richy posts from awhile back using a Black TUFBUF& M100, I had to try this combo.
I used it on the hood of my sisters trashed 2010 black CR-V followed by Essence and it made life splendid.
