Recommendations to freshen up engine hoses

When you all clean the engine bay, do you tape/plastic off any of the electronics or alternator?

When you apply the dressing do you spray it directly to the components? How do you get into all of the nooks and crannies?

Thanks!

Yes you should tape up any electrical components using masking tape and disposable plastic bags to cover these areas. I saw a video from Larry (Ammo) and he said on new cars you do not have to do this, but I would just to be safe.

I spray hyper dressing on the engine compartments, let it sit for 10 mins and go back and either blow or wipe off any of the extra dressing.

Detailed my engine this past weekend. The sun messed up my shot lol

i have done all of my personal stuff since '07 (all '07+ cars) and never had to cover a thing in the engine bay. late model cars are fine in that regard. i'm not blasting the thing with pressure or much water anyway - i use just enough to remove the diluted Power Clean and/or ONR residue.

Clean the hoses with Meguiar's M39.

Afterwards:
Dress them with a "water-based"...

Bob
M39 cleans rubber better than anything I've currently used. Been using M39 a long time too...and used another cleaner that Meguiar's used to make that was even better.

Is Hyper Dressing water based? I thought it was, but I'm not 100% sure.

I do have Opti-bond but have yet to try it. I love the looks of it I see in show-n-shine threads though.

I have both and love options. I need to add 303 to my arsenal as well.

Yes, hyper dressing is water base, you can dilute it all the way up to 1:4
