Recommended clay substitute?

What's a good clay substitute product. I see a lot here on AG but am having trouble deciding. I have a couple vehicles, one that is ~1 year old and never clayed and the other that hasn't been clayed in years but is more of a "garage queen" so likely has only light to mild contamination.

Normally I would just grab a few ounces of clay from an auto part store and go to town, but I was interested in something easier and more cost efficient.
 
The mitts are probably the easiest to use. The towels are more versatile. After trying several mitts, towels, blocks and pucks I still mainly use a traditional claybar. Yes it is slower and you have to be concerned with dropping it, but it also cleans better than the substitutes do.

A clay mitt works great for me. Covers much larger surface area and makes short work of the process. It SEEMS a little less "sticky" than a clay bar but that basically means a few more passes which is not an issue. I also like not having to knead the clay. You can use soap and water with a mitt and it works fine.

Don't forget the clear sandwich bag test before claying.

I’ve been happy with the Nanoskin products which means I haven’t tried any of the other new mitts and such.
 
Don't forget the Nano-Skin small sponges for tight areas. :)
