Recommended Glass Cleaner

Another vote for the distinguished gentleman from Stoners.

I used to swear by Sprayway foam, but for some reason the last can I used produced a streaky mess and made me wonder if they messed with the formula. We found the same issues when trying to use it around the house too.

If you're working on interior glass, it is hard to beat the Zap Cloth. No streaks and cleans with just water. Been using one for years.

I've been using these for almost 10 years now.

I've never tried the Zap.

For exterior glass, I've been using those blue waffle-weave glass towels:

For glass cleaner itself, I've been using Nextzett Windscreen Clear. Best I've ever tried. I bought a 5-liter container at least 10 years ago and still have it. You use it at 6-1 dilution. I've given alot of it away to friends and still have plenty.

I've settled on the TRC Dry Me A River waffle weave towels... These particular waffle weaves have larger raised sections, so they glide better.
Isn't it funny how unique those towels are, when there are so many towels that are similar or identical, I don't remember ever seeing another WW like the Dry Me A River. Ours here in the US don't have that debossed/embroidered logo on them, at least none of mine do.

Since there was discussion in another thread about buying gallons of stuff, I'm still working on my gallon of Meg's D120 glass cleaner from 20 years ago. IIRC the concentrate used to be blue, while now it's a reddish brown, but it still seems to work fine. The color fades away anyway, after I dilute it with (soft) tap water.

Yes.
Yeah, I can find the above, but not the liquid in the spray bottle.

I like the Griot's Garage PFM glass towels myself

Well I can’t seem to find my usual glass cleaner, Pinnacle Crystal Clear Glass Cleaner.
Looks like I need to get something else from now on.
So what does everyone recommend?
I like CarPro Clarify Phobic but it has a learning curve but it's basically a glass coating mixed with glass cleaner...outside only

If you don't wanna deal with something that might be finicky, the regular CarPro Clarify is very nice

The embossed logo is only a recent thing, its a nice touch but doesn't alter the towels performance.

I just finished my gallon of D120 and I’m officially out of bulk glass cleaner for the 1st time in years.. I’ve got that new can of Sprayway and my Megs Quik Interior bottle halfway filled with Mothers revision [which I use for interior dash final wipedown] so I’m probably going to buy something soon, I’m leaning towards another gallon of D120.

If you’re wondering how someone actually goes through a gallon of D120? My cat accidentally tipped the gallon over 1 day and a considerable amount spilled out all over the carpet inside the house… I had to steam clean the carpet thoroughly 3 times until the strong smell of D120 concentrate finally went away. It was so strong at 1st that it would give you a headache if you stayed in that room for too long. Lol.

That’s when I became convinced/proved that steam cleaning for 5 whole seconds in the same spot really disinfects, because if it’s good enough to eliminate that stench, it sure as hell can eliminate some germs & bacteria. Lol.

That'a a strong cat!

Some of you will snicker but I use Totally Awesome cleaning vinegar from Dollar Tree and I dilute it down. $1.25 for 1/2 gallon and it works quite well. I also use the Grant glass towels from Harbor Freight which also work quite well. If all one uses that half gallon for is cleaning your windows then it will last a long time.
I have no doubt the other products mentioned here work well also but the cleaning vinegar is 1/10 of the cost. Sometimes paying more isn't worth it. At least to me.

I was going to say twenty years ago, but I guess it's more than thirty-five . . .

Anyway, I used to get this wonderful foaming spray in a blue and white can. Spray on windshield, and wipe with paper towel, cloth, whatever, and it cleaned it now matter how dirty and streaked.

Then it became unavailable.

But I saw a man using it a few months ago while taking my father for a walk, and foolishly didn't write the name down. I think it was mostly a number, but . . .

She must’ve had the zoomies. Lol

Found them! (Zap cloths)

Let us know what you think of them.

Clarity is a touch better than stoner’s. Use both. The Griots crinkle glass towels are best I’ve used. Although I do have CarPros waiting for next use.

I do a final wipe with Zep cloths but lately haven’t needed. The do work well if glass is’aintained.

No snickering from me as LA’s Totally Awesome cleaner is one of the APC’s I regularly use. I believe it’s about $1 a bottle and I normally use it at 10-1. I may have to try their cleaning vinegar at that price. What dilution do you use for glass?

Also, I’ve also purchased the Grants glass towels and they’ve been working out very nicely. At 3 for 5.99 they’re a definitely a bargain.

I looked that up on Amazon--$13.99 for 2, delivered. Obviously in-store is a better option.
