I'm looking to buy a polisher to use on my daily driver and perhaps if I do some detailing work for friends/family. I'm looking for an entry level model that isn't going to cost me a arm and a leg. Also what are some recommended kits that include the pads and perhaps all the product I need to remove minor scratches and swirls? I have no brand loyalty right now. Lately I have been using turtle wax's ICE line. I dont know how ya'll feel about that product line but so far I've had good results.

One more question. What size should I get 3", 6" or 10".

I have a Griot's Garage polisher which I really like due to the power of the polisher and lifetime warranty.

It comes with a 6" backing plate, but I'd recommend going with a 5" backing plate and 5.5" 7/8" thick flat pads.

The smaller flat pads are easier to work with and use.

Also, search out videos by Mike Phillips. He provides excellent tutorials outlining techniques for best results.

Check out http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...get-getting-griot-s-6-how-does-plan-look.html for a good summary.
