reduce griot's vibration... flex quieter?

from everyones reviews and ravings, i thought it would be the rotary of DA's...which it may be, but im not there yet i guess...i dont find the exception cut and decrease in polsih time everyone raved about. like i said, i think it is a high quality machine, very quiet and virtually no vibration, but that is about it for me.

but im very experienced with my makita...i definitely find my rotary more comfortable and easier to use than my flex 3401...

i find myself using the machine like im a lefty to make it manageable...hehe..it is something ned flanders could have sold at the leftorium!!

I thought about buying another RB the 14-2 but went with the 3401. as an upgrade from my PC. I too like RBs (mine is a Dewalt) but DAs are still safer. Il have mine in a few days so it will be interesting to see how well it works.

lol :p nd yes ill have to find that out
I agree that for me the rotary is easier than the 3401 :) I learned on a rotary at my dad's body shop when I was a kid. I sometimes don't look forward to using the 3401, but I do *personally* find it corrects better than the PC. Everyone's experience is going to be different.

Where are you located? If you're near me, I'd let you demo mine so you can actually use it before making a decision. I'm sure others on here would do the same. :props:

Ha! I do too :)

ohhh lucky and in california :(

one thing i did do to my 3401 was i adjusted the bail handle. i dont think it is normally an adjustable part, but i found a way to do mine. now the bail sits a bit higher on the nose of the machine and i find it helps to control it.

i removed the bail handle, turned it upside down (or backwards however you look at it) and put it back on. there is a little tab on the underside of the bail handle that when in its original location used to rest below the head cover...now it rests on the head cover since i switched it around...

i find it nicer to use with the handle this way. if that handle were adjustable i think i would like it better. i am going to try it one day without the handle (thats how i use my da), but i dont think ill like it.

FWIW, this little modification makes it feel right for me.
