This car is owned by the wife of the fellow that I polished his silver Bimmer about a month ago:http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/8682-neglected-silver-bimmer.html
It's a 97 and had multiple marks on it that needed some touch up. I did not have the time on this one to wet sand them flat so I just compounded them down the best I could. Worked pretty well considering. They had a white Dalmation..you can see the dog hair on the mats; it was all over inside. It actually vacuumed up easier than I thought. The wide stripes have returned too as you can see. I tried using RMG 2 ways on this car: applied and worked in via UDM/gray pad and applied by hand and worked in with UDM/gray pad. The hand application is faster and got just as good results and saved time. I was losing my light so the afters don't give it justice.
The Process:
wash
clay with Riccardo
wheels done with Eagle one (when dry) and followed up with ARO
tires with DP gel (love that stuff)
wheels sealed with DG 105
multiple touch ups
compound with rotary using white wool pad and UCCL
compound with rotary using white pad and 106ff
RMG applied by hand (See above) and removed via UDM and gray pad
FMJ applied/removed by hand
Collinite 476s applied/removed by hand.
vacuum interior
303 applied to interior
Mothers back to black on exterior trim, applied with foam brush
Stoners IG on glass

Fantastic work as usual, that is a huge turnaround! Congrats!

Damn you do some killer work man. And I am lovin' those wide stripes.
wolfpacker..thanks a lot! I'm trying to set a new trend with the wide stripes..hope they catch on;).

Excellent wor. That's a nice black shine!
Goose..thanks. I'm not real pleased with the photography on this one. I can't wait for the new fuji s8000fd camera to come out...the quality of my pics should improve when I get the new camera.

Lovely brother, just amazing on the turnaround !

that bimmer was sick... plum nasty!! but ur work is sick, off the wall awesome turn around!! u r a detailing fool

Another impressive detail Richy. Looks great. Those wide stripes are growing on me. Where did you get that attachment for your vac? I remember you saying it has a brush on it (from another thread). One more question. What is UCCL? I've been racking my brain.

Very Nice Richy!! The paint looks like clear coat was just sprayed on (WET)

RMG really makes a big difference in the detail from what I see. Again congrats
on a fine job!

Jimmie..thanks bud..pass the word..the wide stripes are in!! The vac attachment is one from our house vacuum. I will take a photo of it later and post it separately. It's just a nozzle about 3" wide with stiff bristles on it. As for the UCCL..that's Presta's Ulta Cutting Creme Light which is a wool-friendly (embrace the sheep:D) relatively inexpensive compound that finishes to a high gloss on its own. I sent Meghan some info on the line..some good stuff there that's not as much money as a lot of other products. I have some others that I have yet to try. I first heard about it on Autopia and tried it...very glad I did.

Very nice work Richy! Love the reflections :D
Pirex..thanks a lot. I should shoot some more pics this afternoon..the customer has not come to get it yet, I thought they would last night.

Great job!!!:buffing:
Thanks so much.

ehuth..thanks a bunch. ..I strive for the wet look on all my black jobs. I think the addition of RMG helps with that look..that's why I shared the alternative application methods too.

Can almost smell how clean it is, seriously great work there mate....

Roatary + woolpads too, cuts fast?

Oh yeah..depending on the hardness of the clear, I can take out minor to moderate imperfections in one application of compound and buff it clear..that's for SIP or UCCL (sometimes) or UCC. I want to try a yellow foam pad just for comparison..I have always just used wool if I needed to do correction. The other thing is that I have an old wheel that I keep my wool pad on so I don't have to bother changing pads.

Nice turn around on that vehicle there richy, I'm liking the wide stripes too. Has a destinctive look to it, well done.

Oh I agree, you got a nice reflection to the vehicle :righton: well done.

Thank you for sharing.
