Reflection Auto Detailing

2007 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R
Full Detail

This bike was in rough shape when we started we cleaned every part on the bike and i did a full paint correction removing every defect in the paint.
For the motor and the plastics we used a 1:10 (purple power:water) mix to degrease the forks, motor, and swing arm. We used such a diluted degreaser because purple power is known to leave white spots on black metal and plastic if it is not diluted enough. Then all of the plastics were dressed with Adams spray dressing.
For the Paint i did a 5 step correction. First stage i used Meguires M105 ultra cut compound to remove heavy scratches and swirls. Next M205 fine cut to finish removing all the defects. Next was 3 coats of Meguires polish, then i applied 2 coats of Meguires 2.0 sealant (letting each coat sit for 1hr). Last i applied 2 coats of Mothers carnauba wax.

The inside of this van was a wreck there was trash everywhere and stains on every surface. To get this job done we removed all the seats and gave it a good vacuum.

Then we used an ammonia mixture and made 3 passes around the plastics inside each time agitating with interior brushes.

Then to rehydrate the plastic used Meguires interior dressing with UV protectants (Texas Heat will kill Plastic)

For the stains we used a stronger ammonia mix saturated each stain and agitated them using detail pro electric brushes.

For the engine we started first by blowing all the leafs and crap out of the cracks on top of the strut mounts. We then used DealerMagic degreaser and a variety of agitating brushes to remove the rest of the dirt and oil. Then dressed the engine bay with DealerMagic dressing.

I use regular house hold ammonia and dilute it with water. When you use all of the degreasers and stain removers if you notice when you spray alot of it at one time it will make you cough. Thats the ammonia in those products, so im simply saving money by taking out all of the coloring fragrance and other added crap that you dont really need. I buy my ammonia at the dollar store. Im more parcial to the lemon ammonia its yellow so makes it easier to get the mixing ratios right.

When using ammonia you want to mix it like you would any degreaser or stain remover in bulk such as Adams,Purple Power, Simple green ect. 1:10 (ammonia:Water) to 6:10 mix. To prevent damage to the surface approach it like you would compounds for paint correction. Find a test area and start with a lite mix and work your way up till problem area is fixed. If you are cleaning plastic and your mix is to strong you will notice light drip marks where it ran down the pannel, This is no good that means your mix is to strong. And never use ammonia on painted surfaces. I really dont even like using it on exterior plastic that is close to paint like mirrors for example just not a chance worth taking. I hope this answered your question.

I have really enjoyed it so far it is a great durable wax which is important here in Texas cause the heat is so bad. I think my favorite thing about the wax is that it wipes off so easy, which if anyone has had the problem of trying to get cheap wax off you will feel my pain lol.

Make separate posts for each detail. Looks like you do great work.
