i wouldnt think so. its just like a plastic badge, instead its a sticker. the paint arounf it may be a little faded by comparison, but a clay, polish and wax will take care of that
If the car spent much time outside parked in the sun you will probably be able to see an un-faded trace of the lettering.
And it isn't something that will polish out either. It will fade over time, but I mean several years.
im sure if theres a "ghost" mark you could polish it to blend with the surrounding paint, use heavier compound if needed. do you have a DA or rotary polisher or are you doing this by hand?
Depends on the color of the car. I would think red would fade bad. But, if you have taken great car of your car, u don't see a reason the fade would even be noticeable.
I removed the stickers off the bed of my truck and the pinstripes and I can't see any sign of the stickers. I can see where the stripes were if I really look for them, but I'm going to wait to wetsand until I have some other body work done.
We've removed a lot of stickers this past year. Funny to say, but a lot of people have been asking us to remove their "Obama" stickers. Who would of guessed????
Make sure you get all the adhesive off - 3m adhesive removal works great..... do not get googone or anything like that - sucks IMO. You can get the 3m stuff at a local paint supply usually. I have done ALOT of stickers and decals - and a good solid 3 step should blend fine - especially if it is only 3 years old.
