I just bought a 2007 Honda S2000 with extremely low milage. The other thing keeping the interior from being mint are a few speckles of what appears to be white paint. How can I remove said paint without discoloring or otherwise harming the dash?

Just a thought, but a clay bar might do it, and is fairly low risk before throwing chemicals at it.

Second opinions? I have never heard of using a clay bar on vinyl. I would think that wouldn't be smart since the vinyl is textured.

So is orange peel paint lol...I don't think it could hurt first of all..whats the worst...some clay comes off and you have to wipe it up? I'd use an interior detail spray or just water for lube and not a spray wax but i think it could work.

Pictures would help btw.

Another option..if you dont have a steamer (that would do the trick if you did) then I'd get a Terry cloth and soak it in very hot water...and then let is set on the paint. If the paint is latex especially, then the heat will break down the structure of the paint and make it possible to remove it. A finger nail might be your best tool in this situation. Only other thing i can think of is i know HD and Lowes sell some latex paint remover stuff in the paint section...its fairly mild and works quite well. Not paint STRIPPER but remover. Spray a little on there and i bet it does the trick..just re-dress your dash when you're done.
