Removing Spoiler

Well I was able to remove the spoiler, held by two very small bolts and no adhesive.

Underneath there were hard lines that outlined where the spoiler was, these turned out to be fixable with my PC BUT...there was more significant damage to the paint. If you could imagine sand and road grime getting caught underneath the spoiler and virbrating against the paint (over 6 years...only 3 months of which I have owned and cared for it) it ate away at the paint, and got down real deep. There were about 5 spots like this, each about 3-4 inches long and would take some serious attention from a painter.

All in all I prefer the spoiler-free look but not worth the eye-sore thats underneath!

You should be able to get that repaired and painted for around $250 or less. The hatch is mostly window. Pull the trigger <----The red neck in me wanted to say "Git R Done"

Well, at least you gave it a shot and a sample of what your car would look like without it. Time for a trunk swap! There are many Z owners that would be happy to get a nice clean trunk and spoiler.

Since my car is relatively new (8200 miles) I was thinking of taking the spoiler off to detail underneath it, but mine does have 4 screws and adhesive. I didnt want to screw up the paint removing it and the adhesive.

Maybe its time for a Nismo upgrade or something more catching using the factory installation points ?

Since I was a service manager of an Infiniti dealership for several years, G's had bolted on spoilers so I would think Nissan would do the same for the 350Z.
I have to agree with ASPHALT ROCKET as I have a G Cpe. and have seen the bolts. More then likely the Z does too.

I wish I would have gotten a G, but maybe next time. Couldnt pass up the deal I got for the 350z. I dont think I will doing anything as far as a different spoiler, just want to keep it clean and simple. Thanks for everyones help though!
