Removing Wax from Jar ???

Sorry if this the wrong place to ask, but, I need help (idea's) on removing new wax from it's jar. I about broke my hand tryning to smack it against my micro fiber glovedpalm. Tip's & Trick's greatly appreciated ...

Put the lid back on it and run it under hot water for a minute and try again. This is what I can think of. I think using a hair dryer to warm the pot may work too. I'd probably not use a heat gun for fear of getting the wax too hot.
 
I may be like the Gieco guy under a rock, but not sure what wax you are having to get out of the jar--am probably behind the latest product neato thingy. Maybe set it in some warm water for just a few seconds, to release it but not create a messy inside jar??
 
just use a butter or putty knife and spread it onto your pad

I have not used the hot water trick but I've used the heat gun and hair dryer and they both work well. The idea is to lightly liquefy the wax that's in contact with the inside of the jar so you can slide the block of wax out. After you get it out, it helps to take and wipe the inside of the jar to remove any residual wax so it doesn't interfere with replacing and removing the wax into the future.

Applying Paste Wax By Machine
Souveran Paste Wax can be applied by hand or machine, I personally prefer to apply all my waxes and paint sealants by machine plus the owner Mike has never used a DA Polisher before, only rotary buffers, so I wanted to introduce him to one of the most popular types of machine polishers in the industry.


Using a microfiber glove to hold the wax, you can pop the wax out of the jar and then simply swipe the wax a few times across the face of the foam finishing pad and you're ready to machine wax. Sometimes it helps to lightly heat the outside of the plastic jar with a Hair Blow Dryer as this will loosen the grip crated by surface tension the wax has with the jar.

Monday night I machine applied a coat of Souveran Paste Wax to the 1962 Cadillac we used for our demo car at our last Saturday Detailing 101 Class.

Thanks Mike...just have not used these. Kind of like grabbing a pound of butter by hand to smear it on your toast. :xyxthumbs:Been using the Griot's stick carnuba and thats nice.
 
I use a gold butter knife for my Fuzion paste wax. I figure since its so expensive I better apply it to my pad with an expensive wax! Jk I use a reg knife.
 
Ha. I keep forgetting to use my mf gloves when I handle the cake of wax.

Doesn't work with a hard wax like 915. About the only way to do it is use a can opener on the bottom of the tin due to the paint-can type lid on the top.

Thanks everyone ! I'm new at this, and I was having a difficult time getting time removing my new Dodo Juice Purple Haze, so that I could apply it with my DA. All is well, I used a small knife to separate the edge.
 
Some waxes just fell off with a few light shake on the side and a few tap on its bottom, do it upside down with the lid on so it doesn't fell to the ground.

For some waxes you just can't pop out the wax from its can, because the opening is narrower than the wax itself like collinite
 
Why would anyone go through all the trouble of trying to remove the wax from the can/jar when you could just use the 4" mini pad and attach it to the machine like Meguiars 4" spot buffing pads?:dunno:
