Removing wax/polishes from the clear paint protection line?

I bought a Corvette that had a clear-bra or similar clear paint protective film on the lower sides (rockers). The previous owner used Adams Buttery wax on the car, and he waxed right over the lines, leaving tell-tale white wax residue on the edges of all of the clear-bra.

I have used soft tooth brushes to try to clean it out, but it doesn't seem to be removing all of it. Any ideas for removing the residue? It doesn't seem to be under the clear-bra, but it is tenaciously clinging to the edges!

I use one of the following products with a soft MF-towel.

Gently rub away from the edges/seams...
(easy to "lift" edges...not so easy to have them lay flat again)

Don't want to introduce any marring to the PPF.
May take several applications...Take your time.

I haven't done this, but I think if you wrap a plastic body putty applicator in a microfiber, it may get it off. Like I said, I haven't did this, but it might work.

Or, you could probably use some type of wax remover, mineral spirits, or dawn on a soft toothbrush?

Somebody here smarter than me will chime in with something that will work.
 
The stuff above works too, but when I get wax on top of my vinyl pinstriping on the GMC, (same basic scenario) I use a toothpick and run along the line. Gets all of it off, costs next to nothing (seriously, a toothpick), and I've done it for 4 years and noticed no ill effects.
 
I generally use some APC on the problem and that generally always works well, I would try that and see were it gets you.

The toothpick work for me too. Once cleaned, to avoid the issue in the future, tape of the edge of the film before polishing.
