wife has a 89 Mazda MX6, no clear coat from the factory that i know of, and lots of oxidation (at least that is what i think the white spots are)

will XMT #2 get it out? or 3M's Fine Cut Rubbing compound with a Orange LC pad on my 7424? i have access to all of the above

thanks

I never used rubbing compound by 3M, I think it is designed for rotary use.
Remember, you want to start with the least agressive product, then if it won't do the job, move up to a little more agressive. So, start with XMT 2 on orange pad, do a little section at a time (18'x18'), then check your results. If it won't work, I would move up to XMT3 or SSR 2.5.

Good luck.

but i should be able to give it some new shiny life?

depends on how far the oxidation has gotten. but it couldnt hurt.... try xmt 2 or 3 if you hvae it

I would start as follows :

XMT2 via orange, XMT3 via orange and then xmt3 via yellow if necessary.
