Removing Zaino Z-5

If you guys read the statement again you will see that they recommend using the Dawn BEFORE applying the Zaino. That's to make sure existing waxes are removed. The Z-PC in my opinion is the same thing as Duragloss #652 Pre-Cleaner #2.

OP, in summary:

- Polish the Zaino away and make sure to have extra pads on hand in case they are needed

or

- Use a dedicated paint cleanser - Pinnacle, Wolfgang, P21S, Dodo Lime Prime or Lime Prime Light, etc.

or

- Perform an APC wash

Note that a body solvent may be necessary.

Say it ain't so! Next thing you'll tell me is that Z-6 is the same thing as FC&S and that AW is diluted Z-8!

Do you have proof?

I'm not trying to engage in an argument just wondering if there was any proof. I haven't been to many detailing forums since early 2000s and from what I remember the only place I went to was Autopia...which is named DetailCity now(?).

I've been doing research and looking into items that members of AutoGeek have been recommending that AG does and doesn't sell.

I've come to the conclusion that a lot of people are saying that Zaino is nothing but Duragloss. But after digging and doing some more search on Adam's Polish (that people are claiming to be Chemical Guys just relabeled, and you know what? Their polish pads are Chemical Guys pads (made by Lake Country) new and old version). From one of the threads it discussed that some companies sharing info and found that Chemical Guys parent company is Warner that does Supply/make CG products (who apparently makes majority of Poor Boys products), Adam's and Duragloss...and also Zaino shares info with Warner on their ingredients/secrets/whatever you wanna call it so thats why Duragloss is so similar to Zaino.

Do you have proof?

I think the proof is in the products. A ton of people have used both side by side an can't tell a difference other than the scent of the product.

I used Zaino products for years before I tried Duragloss on a whim. I can't tell you its identical, but for me, it isn't different enough to matter. Its about 30% less, and its available locally.

I reapply every couple months, so even with Zaino I never saw it wear off naturally.

Every-time, this topic comes up on other sites people get so defensive. It's care car, and what one person prefers may or may not work for another.

a manufacturer can tweak products or change base formulas in many ways including additional ingredients, glossing agents, polymers, scents, and coloring. While some may seem similar its usually best to offer "use the one you find most benefit in" and dont worry about which products it could or may mimic.
