I got a 2018 F-Pace with 1000 miles on it for the day while my car is in for inspection and warranty work. I am in shock how dirty the car is for being a new car! The car drives like a dream it is awesome, I really enjoyed driving it back from the dealer. When I was driving I thought that I wouldn't mind driving this every day. That thought lasted for
.0000001 seconds when I remembered my F-Type will be back to me in a few hours.

When I parked, the business owner from behind my house asked if I got a new car already. I told him it was a rental for the day, he asked if I was going to clean it because it's the dirtiest car that has ever parked in my spot.

My wife came outside and said wow that's really nice. She got in the car played around with it and said this is a lot nicer than my Subaru! I have a feeling this will be a top choice for her next car in the future.

I guess giving out nice rentals for the day served its purpose in making people fall in love with a new car.

Funny. my 'ol Lady dives a Subaru and has been eyeing that F-Pace.

That's a sharp ride! And yes the rental/loaner vehicles. I had one for a month or so last year, had 3400 miles or so, I don't think it was ever washed. It was white could have been called a light brown from 5ft away.

They are nice cars, I'm not an SUV guy but if I had to get one I would be ok with the F-Pace.

I don't understand how people can get a new car so dirty so quickly. I was taught to return something that isn't yours in better condition than you got it in. I care for rentals like they were my own.

I hear ya, I treated my loaner with respect. I figured I told them not to touch mine, so I didn't touch there's.

Wait, your wife drives a Subie and you drive a Jag?

I really want to drive one of these. I like how they look and like even more how they sound. I'd take one over a Porsche any day, and I'm a VWAG guy haha.

Yup, my wife really isn't into cars. A car is just a car to her. Though she loves driving my F-Type and she enjoyed the F Pace, she doesn't really get excited about cars. She had a Ford Focus at one point and I remember seeing a McLaren on the road. I started drooling, her response " what's so special about that, I think my focus is nicer." She has her hobbies that she spends money on and that makes her happy, cars make me happy. Her dream car is/was a VW Beetle, I got her one and she didn't like that the dogs didn't fit in it nicely so the Subaru took its place. She had her dream car, so I got mine

Where would you put your legs sitting in the back seat?

The passenger seat was all the way back leaving little room. I sat behind the drivers seat while exploring the car, at 5'5 I had more than enough room. I think most people can fit comfortably for a decent length trip.

My sister has an F-Type, and a Lexus RX450 for winter/shopping. She is eyeing the F-Pace as its replacement; would you recommend?

Chris

I would say it's worth a test drive. If she is happy with her F-Type they have a lot of similarities. The F-Pace drove like a smaller car, I didn't feel like I was driving an SUV. I never drove the RX450 so I can't compare the two. I drove an Explorer, and two different model year outbacks, most recent was a 2016. The F-Pace was a clear winner in my book.

The window sticker was in the glove box, for a well equipped 2018 suggested MSRP was 42K. That came with backup cam, sun roof, nav, heated seats and steering wheel, electronic everything. I know that is not cheap for a car, but my neighbor a few doors down got a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe for 38K recently. I would spend 4K more for the Jag IMO. Another great perk, that F-Pace had some power! It was sporty, beautiful, fun, all the things I like in a car.
