Replacement for Zaino Z-16-Tire Gloss

Duragloss 321 Non Silicone Tire Dressing :)
I swear it's Z16.
Fascinating. I'd heard this before, and now I'll just have to go buy some. I am a total Z16 junkie. After trying just about everything, I went with Z16 and haven't looked back. That was about seven years ago, and still applies today. I certainly love the idea of buying in larger quantities and less expensive prices.

I was intrigued by Opti-Bond, and a few of the gels, but the look just didn't do it for me. Z16 remains, for me, the absolute best of all worlds - application ease, look, and durability.

I swear it's Z16.

My Z-16 is from 2005 and is a thin white liquid that smells like lemons...I swear it's DG253. I had heard that Z-16 was later changed to a thicker liquid that was bluish--is that what DG321 is like?

Smells the same and looks identical. My bottle of 321 is pretty new.

I just applied 321. It is thick, white and smells kind of like coconuts to me. I have so many DG products now I do not know what to use anymore. I was using 253 with Rain Repel and it did a good job.

Here are some pics with Optibond on two of my cars using the spray method. I don't know how they compare to Z-16 since it is one of the few tire dressings I have not used, but this method delivers consistent results.

Nothing personal but that is waaaaaay to shiney for me. I do agree that spraying with a gun is a very good application method. I use a Harbor Freight $10.00 gun. Material gets in all the places that wiping on will never get so you get even coverage with less product.

No problem, to each there own! I personally like everything shiny on my cars. Shiny paint (especially polished black) and matte wheels just doesn't look right to me. It almost makes the car look unfinished IMO. Colors other than black look pretty good with a black satin finish though.

I wanted these pics to show what spraying can produce. I've read posts from people who couldn't get shiny results from a water based product such as Optibond. These pics are two coats using 50/50 water mix. Add another coat if you want more bling or wipe down with a rag if you want the satin look.

You did hit the nail on the head though about less product. It seems you hardly use any by spraying it on. I heard the HF gun was pretty good especially for that price.

I like the look of DG NS dressing (321) but I'm done with it. Whenever I drive through rain my white paint is stained terribly. Last time waited too long to clean it and now I think I have to polish it out. 501 couldn't do it. I need something that stays put when it gets wet.

$10 gun for applying tire dressing? Link please..does it help get near the bottom of the tire so I don't have to apply the dressing then move the dang car and put more on? Lol

Sounds like you need to use less or wipe it down after and/or clean your tires better before application.

That's awesome. Do you just keep it filled with tire shine all the time? And do liquid tire shines pass through it just fine?

I clean it out after use. Cleaning is just spraying water thru it. I believe the one I have is 4oz but I do not see it on website. Maybe in store only ?.
2 Piece Professional Automotive HVLP Spray Gun Kit
It would be the smaller of this tandem set.

That's exactly what it sounds like. Though I wipe it down after letting it dry for about half an hour. I wash my tires with regular shampoo and a brush. I don't use anything stronger because I don't want to strip the sealant on my rims. It seems it just gets reconstituted with (rain) water. I have to do some searches and try something else.

Maybe try 253. I have had good results with it and have not seen anything like your saying with 321. I just put 321 on two of the vehicles today to check it out. Right now all I can say is the tires look good.

Yeah, that's what I used to do. All I can tell you is the difference is night and day once you start using a tire cleaner or APC and actually get the tires clean before you dress them. You just have to keep it off the wheels.

You're right. I shouldn't sweat the sealant thing. I have plenty of Z-CS and Opti Seal, wouldn't take much to throw some on as often as I need to.
Thanks.
