I've got a UDM DA and it has been crapping out on me. It came with a set of replacement brushes. I removed the bottom of the cover, but it does not seem obvious where these brushes go. This might be a simple fix that I could do with some assistance rather than taking it to someone to replace them. Has anyone done this yet? Can you shed some light with either pics or video on how to replace the brushes on this UDM?

At risk of sounding stupid, What is "UDM"?

Over on DW.uk I found a thread stating the brushes for a UDM are identical to those used in the G110/G220, so if you can find instructions or information from one of those other tools I'd imagine it should also apply to your machine.

Matt, that is perfect!! Thank you very much, sir!

I have two of these in my GG and I didn't know that they are called carbon brushes until I read this thread. I just guessed that they are important so I kept them. what a noob! :D What is their function?

They provide electrical contact to the rotating armature in a motor. When they wear down and don't make contact, the motor she no go.

After seeing that MOL thread, I figured I'd be fine. IT seems that I have been supplied with the wrong type of brushes. The one pictured below with the round end is what I was supplied with and the other is what was removed. It looks like I'll be hunting for Bosch brushes now!
