Restore the interior trim after removed the scratches

Can't you find a replacement piece that is in better condition than what you have.

Am I crazy to think about what some Kiwi shoe polish might do in this situation if it was the only thing you could buy locally? I dunno what kind of vehicle this is, but unless it’s a Bentley or something I’d at least try a small test spot just to see how it does.

??????????????????

??????????????????

Why the big surprise? I mean could it really be so dramatically different than lets say Turtle Wax Endura Trim Coating? I’ve used both products and they sure look similar... Theres a little known method where some people [not me] actually coat black leather interior seats with Kiwi Shoe Polish and report great results. Go figure...

Years ago I cleaned the nearly FUBAR light olive green leather interior in my 97’ Cadillac Seville using Soft Scrub bathroom cleaner and got outstanding results.

To this day that might’ve been the biggest turn around I’ve ever done on leather interior. And it didn’t harm the seats at all.

There is nothing to be surprised at all. Did you see the pictures I have attached and what do you think?

I could apply solution finish to coating on the trim but I need to see if it is looks good after I have removed most of the scratches and marks.

I should also mention that I’m not sure where you’re located, but without reading through the entire thread again, I get the impression that you may be located outside the USA?

So that idea is simply a last resort type of thing that may just be worth a try. Test spot, not the whole thing...

Forgive me if I’m wrong about that. I’m viewing this on Tapatalk through my phone and it doesn’t show locations next to usernames like the full version does.

If it were me I wouldn’t focus too much on trying to remove the scratches. I honestly think you’d be doing more instilling scratches the more you sand or aggressively mess with it? Like I think Mike mentioned, I’ve never heard of successfully being able to remove/correct scratches on plastic trim.

If it were me I’d focus more on restoring it back to black.

Or find a replacement piece in better condition.............. :)

Yes I am located outside of the USA.

What do you mean by the last resort type of thing? do you mean I should use something like solution finish?

Good idea, but it will cost me money to buy a new one...

Wasn't my idea.........

But, check around at junk/salvage yards for your exact model. Some great buys on parts if you can find a match.

24 hours since I used the heat gun, so today I have applied the Meguiars ultimate black restore like 3 times and here it is how it looks right now
