Restoring black exterior moldings

(C4) does however appear to need a fair amount of prep work prior to application. It also appears to be priced as if it were liquid gold. Ouch!

Do you order yours from GTechniq directly, or do you buy from a domestic retailer? It does not appear AG sells this product?

IME it bonded fine on a completely unprepped test spot--YMMV. Expensive but it goes really far. I got mine from Hawaii but they are apparently out of stock, others have ordered from UK. If you google "buy gtechnic C4" you will find where to buy it.

Any more thoughts or suggestions before I bite the bullet and order a couple things? The Ultima UTTG is looking like a winner (definitely want to try it), and I'm still debating on the Gtechnic C4 given its cost.

Well, I can't spend your money for you. Someone made a comment here about tools recently something like "when you buy cheap you buy twice". I've never used the UTTG, and I'm sure it's a good product...but I can't tell you how many trim dressings I have that I have nothing to do with now that I've used C4--I'm sure if I added up all the bottles I spent as much or more than on the C4--and I bet the C4 bottle would get as many trim-months (like my new word?) as all those other ones added up. What I'm saying is that applying C4 and having it last 2 years, as opposed to doing 24 applications (once a month) of an inferior dressing, probably uses the same amount of product dollar-wise, but you're doing 1/24th the work. And the prep isn't really that bad, a little APC scrubbing and a quick IPA wipedown, which once again, in my experiment, wasn't really required.

Thank you for your feedback. I think you've convinced me to just bite the bullet and order some of the C4. I've yet to read a bad comment about the stuff, which is rare for a detailing product.

Just a word of warning, I tried to sneak in under some wiper arms and other difficult to reach areas, so I inadvertantly went over some spots multiple times with the applicator, and got heavier application there, which is now noticeably glossier than the rest of the treated area. One of the videos they show going back over the surface lightly with a microfiber towel to remove excess. You really need to use very little, and it's probably better to apply too little and have to go back over it, then to apply too much and have to go back and wipe it down. Either way, the moral is that you CAN unevenly apply the product and get variable gloss, so just be aware of that so you can go back and apply more or remove some so it's even.

I 100% agree with Corey but then I almost always do!b Hell I cant ever remember disagreeing with him!
