This past weekend I detailed my Dad's White Diamond Pearl 2009 Honda Accord for his Father's Day gift. He recently retired from the railroad, and needless to say, his car had been subjected daily to a massive dose of rail dust. Additionally, the car had never peen polished before and the paint was looking flat and lifeless. My mission was to remove the embedded iron, which had turned into a million little rust marks, and to restore the paint from white back to white diamond pearl.
Products used:
Iron-X Spray
Iron-X Paste
Menzerna FG400
Meguiar's M205
Porter Cable 7424XP
Flex 3401 VRG
Lake Country CCS pads (orange for FG400, white for M205)
CarPro HydrO2 (thanks to Corey for the sample!)
BlackFire Wet Diamond Polymer Spray (rear bumper / trunk - ran out of HydrO2 - due to first time and a crappy spray bottle)
Optimum Opti-Coat

Rust turning purple from Iron-X paste (note, those pieces are plastic, not metal - it took four applications to remove all the rust):

And here are the after pictures (the pearl really pops now!):

These pictures just don't do justice to both how lifeless it looked before and how much better it looks now...
Enjoy!
