This was another product I was able to try out this weekend.
My subject was a 2007 BMW Z4 with vinyl seating surfaces. Despite the name of the product, the description says its safe to use on leatherette and vinyl surfaces.
303 Automotive Leather 3 in 1 Complete Care
"303 Automotive Leather 3 in 1 Complete Care can also be used on synthetic leather and vinyl surfaces. As a matter of fact, 303 proudly proclaims that 3 in 1 Complete Care is safe for the following leather surfaces: auto leather, saddlery, footwear, furniture, handbags, briefcases, sports equipment and luggage!"
The product comes in a spray bottle and had a pleasant, but mild scent. Not sure I smelt leather, but it was nice whatever it was and again, very mild to my nose.
This is an all in one product, supposed to clean, condition and protect.
The before:
A nice coffee spill on the seat. Great to attempt to try this product to clean. Unfortunately, this product did not touch this spill. Nothing, nada. Did absolutely nothing for the stain. I had to go to MEGS APC to get the stain removed.
Here is the after I cleaned it (not very well)
Side by side. The 303 leather is on the right side of the seat looking forward, left side untreated, just cleaned.
As the pictures show, it did darken the seats a little. After application, there was no greasy residue. The darkening could have been a combination of very light cleaning, and the protectant properties taking effect.
Use of this product was straight forward and was virtually foolproof.
It might be ok for very light cleaning, but any deeper stains or soiled leather will require cleaning by a dedicated cleaner. As I mentioned, this product did nothing to that coffee stain.
For the price, it seems like a good protectant with very mild cleaning abilities. That may be all many people need for leather or vinyl seat maintenance.
