Review: AutoFinesse Avalanche Snow Foam

Just used it today in my foam cannon. Took the salt crust right off. Thanks for the review.

another great review :xyxthumbs: I love your dry humor ahaha
"As you can see, it says to add 1-2 inches of product to your foam cannon. I was able to figure out how to do that:"

You really nailed it on saying it smells APCish, beat me on the punch to another review will be finally breaking my avalanche in on wed/thur

Its not the same thing as Maxi Suds II. This is a pre wash cleaner whereas Maxi Suds II is a high foaming car shampoo.

Compared to Honeydew, glassworkz and optimum, is there any advantages to buy this? Thx

Yes there is. This is more powerful, it removes more dirt touch free with a pressure washer. Now, if you live in Sunny Stewart Florida - you may not need a product like this. But if your in the snow and salt areas, it does help.

Hi Steve. Have you already tried Bilt-Hamber’s Auto-Foam? There are a lot of reports that say that it is superior to Avalanche (which, by the way, I really like!).

I have used this item for a while now and have used it out of two different pressure washer, one gas and one electric. We got more foaming out of the gas, but the electric did well for us. We have a completely enclosed wash bay, so when it is cold, we have the doors closed. Exhaust fumes are not good in enclosed areas, so we use the electric. We will more than likely stick with electric.

Yes I have BH Autofoam. I like it a little better than Avalanche as well.

I'm still waiting for my Avalanche to arrive. It has been on back order. Since I may not get it till Spring, I wonder if it is useful in the "nicer" weather. I guess anything to loosen up bugs on the front end should be helpful?

Yes, we use it on every wash as a pre-soak prior to two bucket wash. We will foam the car with it and as it is dwelling, we will get our buckets ready. Rinse off and then foam again with our preferred wash soap, at this time, that is Luso. then we start washing. We are washing inside, so I don't have experience with how it would react if the sun is on the car. Maybe others can chime in on that one.

Thanks for sharing! I wouldn't be using it in the sun either. I hear Lusso is wonderful! I will be adding that to the arsenal as soon as I can put a good dent on a couple gallons of DG 902.:xyxthumbs:

It's really not a snow foam as much as it is a prewash solution. Those expecting mountains of foam will think their cannon isn't working properly. However it cleans like crazy.

Thread Revivial.

For those that have compared, how does Avalanch compared to let's say....APC in a foam cannon.

I recall reading over a DW.uk, that alot of these is somewhat APC'ish based.

I myself have been waiting for CG No Touch but I suppose VOC laws are to blame ?

Anyhow, while I add about 2oz of APC in my wash mix in the foam cannon when doing heavy duty washes (right now, salt washes) ---- I'm still on the lookout for a truely touchless wash. I was planning to just give it a shot with APC/water in the foam cannon when it get's warmer to see what the results are....

A strong wash is what I'm expecting. Foam or not!

The key attribute really is clinging in addition to the cleaning. Clinging is usually associated with thick foam but it could be accomplished in another way.

Apc will strip your lsp or degrade it for sure. Stick with the avalanche as it does not remove your wax/sealant

I used Avalanche for the first time today on my own car which had not been washed for a while and my mothers car (always the test bed for products before they are used on any customers cars) and i was very much impressed with the cleaning capabilities. Having used the likes of Surfex Snowfoam, CG Citrus Snowfoam and a local one called Magnifoam (which is highly regarded in the UK) I actually thought Avalanche performed a lot better if not the best !
