I received this product at no charge from Meghan, and in return, I agreed to provide a review on the forum. I will try to keep this as objective as I can.
I always have a high level of anxiety about a new tire products. Between the gloss level, potential for sling, short durability, ineffectiveness on some brands there is just a lot of ways for things to go sideways. I am pleased to say my risk was rewarded on most fronts.
Upon opening the bottle I'm greeted with a sweet berry like fragrance. I had to pull out a couple old protowaxes to figure it out, but it's essentially the same scent as Son1c protowax 93 (pretty sure that was the precursor to pheonix). This smell is intoxicating. They call this a gel and I believe it's got the consistency of a very runny yogurt. I make this comparison for a simple reason: it smells delicious and looks like a very runny yogurt, keep it away from your kids, seriously.
Using the BF tire applicator, I laid a bead acros the center and folded it inward (butterfly technique). The prodcut spread easily and covered a large SUV tire with adding another half a bead. It left a nice Satin finish with one coat. I did not try anymore layers as I didn't want any more shine. It lasted about 5 days, a little short, but it did not cause any browning of the tire after the next cleaning, which is a big plus.
50/50 of 1 coat, I have not knocked it down at this point. It does drop back to a satin finish, slightly past new tire.
I will continue to use this product for clients and my own maintenance washes.
The BF foam applicator is just the right density to stand up to rough work like tires. It alloes products to spread well and conforms to tires. While I like that it's black, I can't see how contaminanted it has gotten and will have to judge by it's efficacy when to grab a new one. So far it last lasted through 5 cars and only shows slight degradation, but as I mentioned above, I can't tell how contaminated it is. In the past I have used cheap grout sponges or retired buffing pads, but the black fire applicator is a purpose made tool that out performs them.
