Review Capture the Rapture and DLux pt. II

I want to revise this review of CTR. I went to apply a second coat over the weekend. Last time I applied it in the garage and noticed some wax holograms when I pulled it outside a few days later.

This time I was prepared. I applied by hand thin as possible : holograms. Then I applied again over the whole car with a Griots and a 4" pads, thin as possible: holograms again.

Another think I noticed is this was is extremely "sticky". No matter what towel you use, you end up with some lint around the panel edges. I have never had lint issues with my towels and tried multiple towels. Its the wax, not the towels.

Don't know. The wax looks great, but I can't say it looks better than Souverän. The thing is, you have none of these issues with Souverän.

Anyone else using CTR?

Did you happen to try to buff it again like 3-4 hours later as other wax manufacturers suggest ! Might help , never know .

Thanx for the updates , useful tips mate . Keep them coming up .

That fixed it the last time, as I waited a few days before pulling it out of the garage. I went over it with ONR 1:16 and it was OK.

I'm just saying, this stuff is much harder to work with than Souverän, I'm not sure there is any benefit over Souverän as well - both do look great.

Anyway, on Thurs I'll have a tub of Swissvax Best of Show, so I'll see how that compares.

Ok , see what you mean mate , thanx. Some wax are tougher to work with than others .

Lets see how BOS will come out .

Nice car nice review,

Just a question about Prima infinity on tires, how long does the gloss last, can it be layered, and does it attract dust?

Debating between this and Perl, but from what I read Perl is more of a Satin look and not glossy, it also expires in a year from DOM. would appreciate your feedback.

Also left this on another thread about Bouncer's Capture the Rapture, don't know if it's of any help but here it goes:

"Just used my CTR about a month ago for the first time, when started the wash (2 pm) temp was in high 80s low 90s by the time got to Waxing (8 pm) it had dropped by 10-15 degrees, so in that environment I did 3 sections ( divided each door, fender, trunk in two sections and the hood in four) and after finishing the 3rd section wiped off the first section then onto waxing the fourth and afterwards wiping the second and so on. I noticed the wax buffed off fine except a couple of times when it was a bit grabby/sticky so I knew I had let it sit for a bit too long.

With Capture the Rapture, as another user told me, you need to buff it again after a few hours as the oils need time to set."

Prima Infinity looks pretty rich, and you can pretty much layer any dressing as far as I know. I would describe it as shiny and it lasts longer than its contemporaries. I haven't tried PERL, so I can't compare.

I use OptiBond, Bold n Bright, and Infinity. Infinity seems to last the longest, but the car I use them on never sees rain so I just cycle for variety.

I've solved all my CTR issues with the MicroFiber Madness Crazy Pile Towel. I've never use a towel that pulls wax of a surface like that towel.

Your recent reviews and threads have all been top notch. This one probably takes the cake.

I was thinking about getting CTR, but instead went for Sherbet Fizz. I just wanted something with better durability.

I also find that DLUX is not very easy to apply on smooth trim! It just wants to move around and is very hard to get that "light touch" to get it perfect if you know what I mean.

what do you like to use on smooth trim for a coating instead of dlux?

I still use DLux. Nothing comes close to the durability. I've found if you smooth it out with a paper towel in a few minutes its fine. The DLux still is going strong.

I'm prolly gonna put on another coat for the winter though just for the heck of it.

Fantastic review:dblthumb2:
The car looks awesome.
Talking about awesome I find LA Totally Awesome to work very, very well and all for a buck, how can they sell such an amazing product so cheap!

I've used it on my CC wheel without any problems, I do cut it though, 2oz to a 16oz bottle.
