I wanted to do a product review on this product because it just works so well. I used this product to clean the paint prior to the application of Opti-coat.

Yesterday, I had some free time so I decided to polish out and apply OC2.0 on my uncle's van. The car had very minor swirls so I used M205 to polish out the entire vehicle. As you know, M205 is rich in polishing oils and this will interfere with OC2.0's bonding. OC instructs the user to use a 15% IPA solution after polishing in order to ensure a clean surface. This was my chance to compare my IPA solution to the Eraser. Let the battle begin.

On the first two panels I worked on, I used my 15% IPA solution. The panels came out squeaky clean. However, I felt that the IPA solution was too strong and it was flashing very quickly. If you didn't wipe it off fast enough, it would just evaporate and I was afraid that this phenomenon will damage the paint finish. Eraser on the other hand was a pleasure to work with. Eraser didn't evaporate if you left it in the finish so this made me feel safe with the product. It's also very effective in making the paint squeaky clean as well. The product spreads great too! A little goes a long way.

One great feature of this product is its fragrance. I can't pinpoint what the scent smells like but it smelled really good. I was actually addicted to the smell.

Overall, this product is a great alternative to IPA. You don't have to worry about mixing your home brewed IPA solution. In addition, I felt that this product is safer to use compared to the IPA solution. If you haven't tried this product yet, you have to give it a shot. It's worth it. I already have the 1L refill in my wishlist for my next order.

P.S. I don't have any shots of using the product because there's really no way of showing before/after using Eraser. So this image is the van I worked on after applying OC2.0 It's a 2004 and I think it still looks pretty good!

Hey Marc,

Thanks for the review!

Everyone that's used this product seems pretty pleased with its performance and the price point also is reasonable so affordability shouldn't be an issue...

Thanks for confirming this great product! :props:

Nice review Mark! The smell is awesome!

Thanks a lot for the kind words Jim! I agree the smell is intoxicating!

Thank you so much for the compliments Bobby! I really didn't know how to properly review this product. I'm glad to hear that you guys think it's a good review.

===============================================

I forgot to mention this in my original post but I'm going to retire my IPA and switch completely to Eraser. That how good I think it is.

Excellent review! I have yet to try eraser, but it has been on my to try list.

Great review, thxs. Going through my second liter, is it sold by the gallon?

Excellent Review Marc!! I too love Eraser!! It's one of those products that once you use it becomes one of your most used products. I'll be ordering some more shortly also.

I love this product! It works exactly as stated, and smells AMAZING!

By the way, the only other time I've smelled something like that is with the japanese marble soda

Tastes great, smells AMAZING (just like carpro) and the bottle has a marble you can play with too haha!

^wait you drank some eraser?

Im sure he drank the ramune. Drinking eraser would be more expensive than a good 6 pack of IPA. Although enough IPA can erase many things.

Mark, have you used it at 2:1 to make eraser around 10% IPA? I have had good luck with it but i would like to hear if any regular users are doing it.
I have not tried that yet. You should try it 1:1. That should put it around 15%(maybe a bit less) which is perfect. I think 2:1 would put it below 10%. :)

How much % IPA does it have Mark? Where did you get the info?

Thanks! :props:
Hey Marc,

The MSDS states < 30%. Technically, less than 30% can mean 2%, but I'm guessing it's somewhere between 25-30%. Still too high, IMO. Many people love this products, though.

Quick question, what about it being too high bothers you? This is the one CP product that I love and use all the time. I've never noticed any adverse side effects, but I'd love to hear your take.

I feel at 30% it will definitely swell the paint, therefore, not showing the true condition of the paint at that time. There's already enough swelling going on with polishing. It can also induce marring when it's wiped off(soft paint). I think if it was closer to 20% IPA, that would be better. JMO.

Have you ever noticed swelling? Like you checked and all was well, and then the next day there were swirls? I'm sure swelling exists, but I don't think it's as big of a risk as a lot of people think. I've been using IPA for quote a while, and never had an issue with swirls coming back. That said, you are obviously free to have your own opinion, as am I. I was just curious. Thanks!

I've seen it happen only a couple times. However, this was NOT with Eraser, just regular IPA. Then again, it could have been the polishes that swelled the paint? I do have Eraser. I'm going to use it some more because everyone and their mom seems to love it! I might be a bit too anal about IPA.
