Review: CarPro TRIX

So TRIX is not an adhesives remover right?

It should work on adhesives as well. I didn't test it on them but based on the ingredients I expect it works well for many "sticky situations".

Sounds good Dan, let us know your experience if you get the time.

Hi Al, I hope your Friday is going well. Have a good weekend. :dblthumb2:
Ordered last night and shipped this morning. I'll compare it to P21S and see how well it works. I'll take pics and write up a short review.

Regards,

Dan.

Would love to hear how the comparison with p21s turns out!

Excellent!! :props: Can't wait to see it! Remember to shake TRIX very often during your application.

Seems a painful application method compared to Wolf's . As you haven't tried Wolf's get.....

Wow ridiculous stuff! Excellent work corey! Always love your reviews!

But seriously, carpro seems to have just put their own product out of business! If this stuff cuts as well as IX, and as well as TarX, there's really no purpose in buying IX or TarX anymore either, especially at the mind-numbingly lower price than IX and TarX as well (since TarX is $15 per 500mL; so 1L of that stuff is $30).

Even if it doesn't work as efficiently, it's an AIO, and it's cheaper than even 1 of the products that it combines; that's quite rare haha!

I have enough products and try not to buy products I don't need. If Wolf wanted me to compare his I'm sure he would send me 1/2 an ounce to do so with.....

Looks like its not so painful...

I sent Avi a Q&A yesterday and got the answers back. Shaking it every so often like 2 minutes is fine he told me. Personally I would still do it every one minute which really isn't as difficult. I mean really....

:buffing::dblthumb2: Thanks buddy!!

Ya, I was shocked at the price!! Check out the Q&A I'm posting in a second too.

Q&A with Avi of CarPro:

1.- Is it absolutely necessary to shake the bottle after every spray? #For instance could you instead shake the bottle say every 10 or 15 seconds during application?

NO , of course not, each 2 min or so is ok too, not always shaking, just from time to time.

2.- Does TRIX have the same, less, or more of the active ingredient from Iron X? #In your testing have you found it to be as aggressive a product as IX and TarX are when used separately?

Yes it has the same concentration as IronX only without water adding, since the tar removing need some solvents it affect a little the ironX reaction kind of barrier on the surface, but light agitation on surface makes them both to react

3.- Can TRIX be left to dry on the paint as long as it is not in direct sun?

No, even if it is possible could i will never suggest any chemicals to left to dry on surface, TRIX need to be washed after in any case, good rinsing and soap wash as well.

4.- Will Tar X be discontinued?

No of course not, some customers looking only for tar removing, same as others need only iron removing.. we will continue sell all items.

6.- Can TRIX be applied to a CQuartz coated car for decontamination with no fear of an affect on the coating?

Yes, of course , it will be very good as well, using this on cquartz will revive the hydrophobic effect , just make sure to wash well after the surface..

7.- I saw in a reply you mentioned you are switching to high quality Canyon copy triggers! #Great news in my opinion! #I just wanted to say thanks for that from all of the CarPro fans and users. #The products in your line deserve an equally high quality trigger. #Will those triggers be used in all your sprayable products moving forward?

Yes, the Canyon copy(made in china) will #relace all triggers of TarX, Reload, Eraser, and TRIX. #IronX will continue to have full plastic spray trigger (plastic made spring inside). this canyon copy has ~1.1ml squirt discharge each trigger.

Great review Corey! I had no interest in this product before I read this review. Now it is in my cart!

It would be awesome if Wolf's had a product that did both like TRIX does! I am going to try out the Wolf's when I get low on my IX.

Great review Corey. I enjoy and benefit from all your reviews. :xyxthumbs:

I've had a few people ask me if IX stains concrete. I just spray the driveway around the vehicle and it rinses right off. I've seen no staining of any kind with IX or TRIX.

I know this is an old thread, but since Trix is on sale I have to ask this. Since up north here we have mostly asphalt driveways...what happens with this stuff when you clean your wheels on an asphalt driveway?

I've had brake cleaner and things like that (temporarily?) affect spots in my driveway, and since this product is 40-50% mineral spirits and 10-20% d-limonene, and designed to remove tar, it's making me a little nervous.

EDIT: I see there was some discussion of the sprayer and the Iron-X component attacking the spring (maybe that was in another Trix thread I was searching). Since it's the bulk bottle that's on sale, I'll need a spray bottle. Do I need one with a plastic spring, or is stainless ok? Does this one have a stainless or plastic spring that would be ok with this product: SprayMaster Heavy Duty Spray Bottle, Heavy duty sprayer, Spray master, Spray master Sprayer ? Perhaps I should be searching Iron-X threads for what spray bottles people are using.

Thanx for this review ! As Setec , it s an old thread , but it s still good .
