I haven't been doing detailing for too long and maybe my eye isn't quite developed to notice and appreciate the subtleties that products can have on the outcome of my labors. I suppose you can take my observation of the effect with a grain of salt then. So, my review will be based on my inexperienced eye, desired effect and the joy that working with the product brings.

CG Blacklight, I fear I wasted my money.
Shine sure, a little.
Reduction of minor swirls, none noticeable (they are my fault from poor waterless wash technique early on).
Protection, it is a glaze so none really (plus it now sits under :bowdown:Collinite 845, so good luck telling).
Ease of use, super easy on (PC 7424 XP with blue pad) and easy enough off with microfiber (Gold plush, which I use for freaking everything, like the WW mentioned before and obviously glaze and wax removal).
Wow factor... none.

Maybe I'm expecting too much in regards to the new depth of color, shine and swirl reduction but I say nothing more than my same car after a good wash. OK, may with a little QD on it after but that's about all.

So in summary. Anyone on LI want a free bottle of CG blacklight?

(Hope I wasn't too harsh):bash:

Most of the CG line provides mediocre results

Try using it with cutting pad on your pc I read somewhere that black light has some abrasive in it
I tested for myself and I saw little of correction going on

What did you to to prep that car? Blackight is a a little bit of an AIO, it has some cut but its not crazy. so why you used a blue pad, i dunno. Seems some of your hate my be due to some misunderstanding of exactly what it is/doing. Also in terms of protection I've gotten a couple months out of it in the past.

Is it blind hate? because everyone loves to hate. CG has a few pretty awesome products, you just have to cherry pick your way through. V7 was everyone's favorite for a while, Blacklight too. Inner Clean, VRP, Diablo Gel, they have a lot of good stuff. People love to pull the "it's all marketing" but everything sold in the world is.

I have a kit from CG and rarely use. I have wet wax, glaze, vrp, m-seal, water spot cream, swirl remover and two interior scents.

okay so you haven't tried most of their stuff. you got some random kit with random stuff. focus in on key products you may want. i suggest you try some more before labeling them.

Silk Shine, still the best interior detailer. And as I've posted many times, I have all the others too, and it is hands down my favorite.

Pete's 53 is one of the best nubas as is 50/50 for the money.

V07 is solid too.

I prefer Meguiars, pinnacle, McKees 37 to name a few

and unfortunately, theres lots of "duds" in those lines too. doesn't mean as a "whole" its mediocre.

Yup and some are expensive duds.

So, back to the OP's topic.

Blacklight is a solid gloss enahncer, it has minimal longevity. I used it and topped it with Pete's 53 with amazing results. Just no longevity.

Yep, in my opinion blacklight is a waste of time. If you want a glaze with better results, look at Poorboy's black hole.

Agreed. That's with most product lines in general. I think all manufacturers have decent products and others that can be considered below average, just the way it is.

since when does it have "some cut"? CG don't even tell you what this thing is. People say it protects, fills, enhances,,, now it has abrasives too? Of course nothing confirmed or denied by chem guys.

So what is everyone supposed to do hold hands, sing kumbaya, and love everything? It's ridiculous, Nobody can even dislike a product anymore without being a "hater"

I will still and always use Hv7. I have tried every qd, spray sealant and spray wax and it is still one of the best.

They make some great stuff I'm still baffled why CG gets so much hate here. In fact if it wasn't for Autopia back in the day I would have never even heard of CG stuff.

Edit: with that being said lol I never ever liked black light. Their Black wax is amazing and very long lasting though. A bit expensive but an awesome topper on a sealed car.

CG products are very pick and choose. A lot of people don't like their polishes, I actually like v32 and v38. V32 I find is a great one step product and v38 is great when you use it as a paint cleanser. That being said, the problem with products like black light is the longevity. So in the long run if you just used something like v32 and corrected the painted, black light is essentially pointless.

here ya go skippy! straight from a pro's mouth who even wrote a blog on it. Or you can google, blacklight and abrasives, and see for your self. it has some abrasives, which provide "some cut"

You should post more often and more frequent because you are always so right

being a "hater" implies one hates something just to "hate" it. IE the guy who posted their line sucks, blindly hated after using two products. Thats "hating"

oh and BTW, i know Bob pointed it the other day, but for someone who didn't know their ass from their elbow less than 12 months ago here, you sure became Mike Phillips over night. I'd take a step back child, the keyboard is your enemy sometimes. Half the crap i have seen you post has all been wrong, your advice can't be taken seriously because you were a puppy who knew nothing Jon Snow, and now you act like you know it all because you purchased a few hundred worth of stuff. GTFO with that.
