Review: Chemical Guys Blacklight Glaze

I also love some CG products, and have thrown some others in the trash. Part of the issue with CG is the marketing, which some people don't like, but how they market a specific product is a separate thing from the actual product itself. Use what works for you. The second thing with CG is that they make so many products for the same purpose, e.g. like a dozen soaps or dressings, that it's easy to get one you like and don't like. Hard to evaluate a product line like that. Blanket statements are difficult for CG.
I've used a full bottle of black light back when I had a dark car, and I liked it under a wax like Petes 53. I never considered it as something that was designed for significant or long lasting protection. CG is big on glaze type products, and I have used several. I prefer prima amigo these days since I'm more of a sealant guy with my white pearl car now. There's been some debate on this forum about the effect of glaze type products under sealants or wax, and I don't recall a definitive answer or consensus.

So what is everyone supposed to do hold hands, sing kumbaya, and love everything? It's ridiculous, Nobody can even dislike a product anymore without being a "hater"

If you have nothing to say, say nothing.
Mark Twain

being a "hater" implies one hates something just to "hate" it. IE the guy who posted their line sucks, blindly hated after using two products. Thats "hating"

oh and BTW, i know Bob pointed it the other day, but for someone who didn't know their ass from their elbow less than 12 months ago here, you sure became Mike Phillips over night. I'd take a step back child, the keyboard is your enemy sometimes. Half the crap i have seen you post has all been wrong, your advice can't be taken seriously because you were a puppy who knew nothing Jon Snow, and now you act like you know it all because you purchased a few hundred worth of stuff. GTFO with that.

+1

Fanboys, don't be a troll. Grow up and limit your negativity to specific products you have tried, used and have personal, negative feedback for. Don't say things about products or product lines you really know very little about except for fanboy hate that trolls these forums. It serves absolutely no useful purpose to hear all of the fanboy hate and trolling. If you have no personal experience with and nothing good to say about Chemical Guys (or Klasse or Kirkland microfiber or whatever else your fanboy hate is directed) then please refrain from saying anything.

If you think Klasse or Kirkland towels are not good, write about your personal experience, do it objectively and let the debate rage on.

What did you to to prep that car? Blackight is a a little bit of an AIO, it has some cut but its not crazy. so why you used a blue pad, i dunno. Seems some of your hate my be due to some misunderstanding of exactly what it is/doing. Also in terms of protection I've gotten a couple months out of it in the past.

I prepped with a good 2 bucket wash. Pinnacle superfine Clay where needed.
(as stated in my original post, maybe I have too many swirls for this product to really show benefit)

I used a blue pad but that's what the directions say, even the article that you link to later says to use a blue or black pad.
It's funny that it could be considered an AIO since not even the company really seems to claim it as one. Perhaps more time and pressure as well as a pad with some cut would help. However, having a light cut to the pad would seem, to me at least, be what is giving to the polish (again, relatively new to this).

I'll consider giving it another shot and using it differently. Do you have pad recommendation? White? Green? Pink?

Just to chime in...

Besides the human elements of bleeding the same color of blood when cut, the fact that we're all posting to a car detailing discussion forum means we all have more in common than differences...

A good rule of thumb to follow is if that little tiny voice in your head even hints maybe you shouldn't hit the [Submit Reply] button then maybe error on the side of caution and just skip it...

I know from experience, I practice this myself.

:)

More CG hate lol

Agree. I've had great results. In the end, it won't replace a good polish/correction but Blacklight is a fine product for what it is.

This is an older pic prior to my applying a coating to my car.

Silk Shine, still the best interior detailer. And as I've posted many times, I have all the others too, and it is hands down my favorite.

Pete's 53 is one of the best nubas as is 50/50 for the money.

V07 is solid too.

Ditto on the Silk Shine and i like Petes also
