Review: Detailers Pride - Interior Surface Protectant

I think the difference in tactile feel would be tremendous. I'll do a test tommorrw. I love the feel of UIGP. My wife caught me petting the inside of my door panel the other day. Those whom have used it know what I mean.

 :nomore:

I thought that might amuse you Tad!! :)

Heres the whole story:
I was taking the wife to lunch this weekend. We had the top down jamming to some music and were sitting at a stop light. My wife looks over at me, turns down the radio, and says "do you realize you are petting Sky right now?" LOL, The UIGP leaves this soft feeling to the interior and I can't help myself. It just rounds out the whole effect for me. It was actually the vinyl door panel I was "petting" but what it does on leather and smooth surfaces is even more incredible.

Corey you are indeed the review master ... do you find time to sleep ??

Nice review. After you applied it, how much did you buff it.

I apply with a mf application, let it dry, then buff off. Buffing will cut the gloss dramatically (do not like the unbuffed look). It does leave a hint of gloss (so not natural per se) but I find the result usually works.

The scent does linger for 4 or 5 days. I actually like it over the leather smell in some products.

I did a side by side test on some coated seats between DP and Leather Stuff. Leather Stuff has the leather scent and seemed to leave the seats a tad slicker but could not claim it was a definitive test.

Superb review Corey!!

Your reviews are thorough and very detailed. I like the format you use and its content and photos are outstanding! :props:

Great review! I just might try some next year, but not that sure about the banana smell. Is it light, or really noticeable?

One of my favorite interior products. Nice pleasant smell, light cleaning ability and protection, with a matte finish...

I should note that after 5 days the previously dried out dash still looks rejuvenated by the DP and while the hint of gloss has departed the color hasn’t faded back at all.

Pros:
1.- Ease of use

2.–Dry to touch finish
3.- UV protection
4.- A little goes a long way
5.- Moisturized and revitalized the dry area of the dash easily

Cons:
1.- Durability (1st hand testing not yet complete)

Final Observations and Summary:
DP-ISP is a very easy to use product that leaves the finish with a look that is natural with just a slight hint of gloss. On the dashboard it slightly darkened the look as well. The finish is not greasy and dust attraction does not seem to be an issue. The scent is very pleasant but expect it to hang around. After day 4 I can still sense it. This is great on most cars but for the cars you do not want any scent added to think twice. Beyond its protective qualities it also has some cleaning properties. I would be happy to recommend this product to those looking for a product that matches the attributes I have described. For a 1 step cleaning and sealing of an interior I think it would be difficult to compete with this product.

Update (Day 4):
I noticed today that the hint of gloss I previously saw had departed leaving a dark matte look to the dashboard.

This is all bang on with what I've experienced with this product. Its my favorite Interior Protectant because of its ability to restore dried out dashes so well. It keeps looking rejuvenated for a longg time. I really like the scent personally, its kind of banana mixed with some sort of tropical scent.

If you want to be impressed of what this product can due then you should check out the dash of a car I put it on. The dash was VERY dried out, I applied it twice back in the spring and its still nice and soft to this day.

Nice Dwayne! I didn't expect it to last that long.

Thanks for the review Corey! :dblthumb2:

My pleasure Shane. How do you like the product?

Right now it's my favorite interior protectant. My second favorite would be Meguiar's Supreme Shine. Although I wouldn't mind trying UIGP.

I really do not want any shine on the dash board as it reflects in the window and is dangerous. Is there a reflection?

No, not as long as you go back and wipe it down. I have two 32 oz. bottles (got it on BOGO) - if anybody would like a sample to try it out please let me know.

Shane, I've used it again since and I think its my favorite for use on older faded interiors. Still love 303 for those as well.

Well like I said, I have 2 32 oz. bottles, so if you would like some more without having to buy a whole big bottle please let me know, as it will take me forever to use what I have. And I may just bite the bullet and get UIGP to try out.
