Question I have for you and others, for long term protection, instead of using a coating of some sort which I've seen offer protection for months to possibly a year, could I wetsand with 6-800 grit and spray with 2K clear for years of protection?
You would need to sand it in this order: 800-1200/1500-2000/2500 and then run a polish to bring back the clear lens. You can do finer grades of sanding to see how each improves the clarity of the plastic. But for speed do use compound or polish or both. Then leave alone or buy a simple coating product and try again in over a year. For longer term protection, apply PPF film (Paint Protection Film) over the lens. Drive away as you will have UV protection plus a barrier to all that rock chips. Look at my other post showing my auto with PPF. Here is example of some recent jobs for my coworkers.
